I applied to Adelphi for fall 2010 I'm just waiting to take the TEAS, I'll take it about April when they post the new dates up. I'm currently at QCC, applying there also, not sure that I want to attend, if I get into both I think I'll choose Adelphi, if I get enough financial aid and scholarships because it will take me the same time to get my ASN as my BSN because I have all other classes and it would save me time from having to go back to get BSN. I'm going to apply to molloy as well just as a backup.
What about you guys?
So nobody else is applying to Adelphi

I applied for Fall 2010 to Adelphi as well. I would be a transfer student from CUNY. I took the TEAS on 3/28. Did you here from Admissions yet? What are the science requirements?

I'm applying too. I also attend QCC. I wonder if I know you? It sound like I do.
A girl I know was applying to the same schools. It was because of her that I applied to adelphi so wherever you are Fiona...thank you!
Anyway, do you know the tuition difference between adelphi and molloy? I haven't looked into molloy yet. I applied to adelphi a few days ago. QCC makes it sound impossible to get in. It's very discouraging but I applied anyway. Just have to wait and see what happens.
Does anyone know where I can get info on that test that adelphi wants you to take to get into their nursing program?
You can register to take the TEAS at atitesting.com. Make sure you register early enough because seats fill up quickly. Testing is only done at Garden City location. Good Luck!!
Thanks mat, I appreciate it. Are there any specific study guides to get? I have the McGraw-Hill study guide already. Are there any others?
jayzlena, You can get the study guides from atitesting.com and you should also purchase a practice on line test TEAS V version (Adelphi applicants), so you can know what to expect. It helped me alot. The exam is straight forward but the science part you just have to know it. Good Luck!!
Thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate it. I looked online yesterday and the only day they had open was april 18th from 1-5pm. If I get accepted into adelphi I need other courses before I'm eligible to apply for the nursing program so I think I'm going to put the test off a little. My plate is pretty full right now. Thanks again and I wish you luck getting into the program.

I think I'm going to register to take the TEAS on 4/18 how was it?I wont here from them until I take the exam. There arent really any prereqs because remember people start out of high school. Most transfer people take a&p 1 and 2, micro , eng101 and so forth, cant go wrong with classes like those. Why dont you call the school and ask or just go over there
shaday,
Yes, Adelphi take thoses prerequistes. I called them and the Advisor stated as a Transfer student u need to complete all prequiste and have 60 college credites because the Nursing Program at the Manhattan Center is fulltime and they only offer the nursing units at that location.
Aslo Admissions wont look at your application until the TEAS Exam is taken-Teas will complete your application.

Hello,
I have not applied yet; I am going to the Open House on April 7th. If all goes well, I will try to apply on the spot. Did anyone get their replies yet? What was your GPA? My GPA is around 3.4 (I think). Will this be enough to get in?
Thanks

I know my application isnt complete til I take the test. You need all the classes only for the manhattan campus but not for the garden city, just look at curriculum on the website and try to see how many of the non nursing classes you have.
