Accredited Dialysis Training Centers in the Philippines

World Philippines

Published

Hi,.!

This is something about the dialysis trainings offered here in the Philippines. I just wanna ask if there are ANY OTHER canters accredited by the RENAP aside from the following:

B Braun and Avitum Phils.,

Philippine Heart Center

Philippine Kidney Dialysis Foundation

National Kidney Institute

Asian Renal Center

It seems that upon reading some of the threads in this forum, these are the only 'viable' training centers offering such course as Hemodialysis. B Braun is fully booked until July2011 and they already have a waiting list for the next batches(in demand talaga..??:D) It would also be helpful if you can mention something about the fees?

Thank you so much.. Replies would be much appreciated..

Hi nurseharbee,

I noticed RENAP is getting more strict with the requirements for accreditation. Good job!

I would also like to suggest that maybe RENAP and renal centers/hospitals that conduct dialysis nursing training would come up with a standard program or curriculum so as every aspiring renal nurse would receive the same theoretical and practical training regardless of on which institution he/she takes it. That way, renal nursing organization or council abroad would be more lenient in recognizing Filipino nurses' RENAP accreditation to qualify for reciprocity to that country's renal nursing certification.

I realized this when I came here in South America to work. They wouldn't recognize my RENAP papers and just based on the length of my experience in dialysis nursing to let me work in the dialysis unit. The country where I'm in is a former Dutch colony and they only recognize renal certifications from the Netherlands and from islands of the Dutch Caribbean, as well as from the US and European countries in general.

Filipino nurses have a very good reputation around the world, based on experience, skill and professionalism. But on certain specialties like renal nursing, certifications not being recognized by some countries make the scope of practice of pinoy nurses in those countries limited, thus also limiting career growth and advancement.

Update on Hemodialysis Training at Nephro Group of Dialysis Centers:

The program will be rolling out in June, the curriculum is accredited by the PRC and RENAP.

I hope they will accept soon. Any ideas if any dialysis center(s) are open for training? I am willing to pay for the training. I want to be exposed in a special area like this. =)

@kayfrn

are you done with your psychometric exams? :)

@Neversmile - You should call the HD center and ask for details. They might ask for a fee...

As for me... my husband and I just needed to finish our IVT updates, then we can pass our application to the HD center here. No training fee... just a cash bond and they are RENAP accredited ^^

Just found out that all Nephrogroup branches had their training at the main office in Mandaluyong. Orientation is every Wednesday, 3-5PM and Saturday 10-12NN.

Hi may I know what HD center only asks for a cash bond? I trained at PKDF before, it was great but as previously said if you dont have dough then that's just it. I really want to pursue my dialysis career since I already have a RENAP cert and IVT license. It's been a year since so I want to train again.

I'm planning to go to Nephro Group's orientation this Sat.

Before certain branches of Nephrogroup would accept trainees on cash bond only. Nephro Center Manila and Nephro Center Caloocan to name a few. But now they made the training system centralized, so it's not gonna be like that anymore.

Most of the dialysis centers I know ask for training fees. Sorry can't give you much help.

@ross_diadame.

have you decided if you will pursue your training in nephro? i 'm also having a hardtime deciding but i'm also weighing more of the advantages of nephro from other dialysis centers...they have a lot of branches and more exposures unlike others such as nkti where i really have to go all the way in east ave. from cavite to get trained.
