I just got my acceptance email!! Anyone else starting this fall? Adult NP program. So excited!
Hi Everyone! I'll be starting the FNP track this fall...still trying to decide if I want to do part time and work or just go full time...what is everyone here going to be doing? I keep hearing how much they advise against full time but it seems doable if you don't have a job and can just focus on classes.
at the information session today ******* said a lot of full time students ask to go part time.
Hey reebokHCFR...I tried to PM you but I can't cause I'm not an "active member" yet. Anyhoos, I graduated from UF's Accelerated BSN program with a 3.65 and have 1.5 years neonatal ICU experience and about 6 month in community health. I was accepted for the FNP track. That's good info to have about full-timers wanting to switch to part time! Think I made up my mind on the part time for sure :)
Glad to see a lot of people here applying to USF for the ACNP program, I am in the process of applying, just working on my essay and need to get my letters. I too was undecided on whether to attend part time or full time, but I think its better for me to attend part time, and just pick up extra classes if I can in order to speed up the process. I am also starting in Spring vs the Fall because of Florida residency issues, so I may not even have the option to take extra classes each semester. My main reason for not attending full time is when clinical time comes along, it will be impossible to do the clinical hours for multiple classes and work full time. I can't afford to work part time in order to attend clinicals full time, if I could, that would be my preference.
To the poster who said they were turned off by the information session, would you be willing to PM me and tell me why? I was unable to attend the session due to my work schedule, and I am working for the next one as well so I won't be able to attend.
We all need to keep this thread going to keep us updated!!
Dfunk15, I used to live in the area. It's not exactly the nicest right around campus, but St Moritz apartments aren't bad and they are very reasonably priced. My sister lives there and hasn't had any problems. Very close to the school, definitely bikeable. If you have money to burn, there's The Lodge at Lakecrest, very nice but too pricy for me. Maybe doable with a roomate? That one is walking distance to the school.

I wanted to make sure that patho and research were done in class. Other courses I am not sure about.
