Advancement and Raises
UH is the same but you can use it right away versus having to wait a year.

Ohio License by Endorsement
I have had my application complete for about a month, just now did the email thing to inquire and received a reply within 4 hours saying I had now been reviewed and could expect my licensure to go live on the site this week. Super excited to be an Ohio nurse! I have a job waiting for me at UH.

manikin names?
My favorite mannequin at the nursing lab is named Bertha Butts.
-
How much of your cohort did you "lose"?
We started with about 100 students, second semester we will only have 70. I'd say 90% of our lost students failed due to our pharmacology course.

Being a professional with tattoos?
My charge nurse and several others on my floor have visible tattoos. Most will wear long sleeves if they have extensive work.

Accepted!! - University of South Florida Fall 2013
I know nothing about the on campus options, but there are a lot of apartments around the school. If it is marketed as "student off-campus housing" you should be ok. There are some places that are not great to live in, speaking from personal experience. Brandon is a safe, nice choice if you don't mind driving 20-30 minutes.

Accepted!! - University of South Florida Fall 2013
Dfunk15, I used to live in the area. It's not exactly the nicest right around campus, but St Moritz apartments aren't bad and they are very reasonably priced. My sister lives there and hasn't had any problems. Very close to the school, definitely bikeable. If you have money to burn, there's The Lodge at Lakecrest, very nice but too pricy for me. Maybe doable with a roomate? That one is walking distance to the school.

Nervous about my first clinical
Everything you are feeling is normal. After the first day, you will be more calm and able to remember the skills you learned in class. Do as much as you can, ask the CNAs at your clinical facility to observe skills you aren't yet comfortable with. Remember that no one wants you to fail, and it's in your best interest to do as much as you can so you will be more skilled when you don't have a teacher with you to help. Good luck!

Which job would you take?
It seems like the second job would provide better experience on which to build your future nursing career. The first one seems like a nursing job for someone who doesn't really want to do bedside nursing.
-
What type of gross things do registered nurses have to do?
When I was in high school I felt the same way. I didn't think I had it in me to deal with bodily fluids and sick people. Give yourself some time before you decide one way or the other about nursing. Choosing your career is not something to rush. Get some life experience first.

Wound Care
Don't wear a lab coat next time.

TEAS V hard?
I found it pretty easy. If you've passed gen chemistry and biology I fairly recently you shouldn't have an issue.
-
What city are you in??
Nice, what semester are you? I'm a lowly AH I.
-
What do you use for note-taking? (technology-wise)
I have an Ipad mini I use in class, but I haven't found the perfect app for powerpoint notes. I usually copy/paste all the text from the pps into Pages and highlight/bold/underline key points and add my own notes to them.

What city are you in??
Good luck! Don't let it psych you out, it isn't that hard. I would say it might be difficult if you never took a chem course in your life.
