Accepted to SRMC Spring 2010!!

Published

Just got my acceptance letter for Southside Regional Medical Center for Spring 2010!! Anyone else get good news!!???:yeah:

Specializes in Tele, ICU, ED, Nurse Instructor,.
For the past 3 semesters SRMC has had 100 % pass rate on the NCLEX. :yeah:

That is good, the past 3 semesters 100%. How about overall since the change in 2003? I hope it stays that way for a long time.

Well a 100% is only good if you have more than 10 people taking the NCLEX.

Before you bash a school, do you research... just saying.

SRMC has anywhere from 20-35 students graduate and take the NCLEX-RN every fall and spring, it is in a rather mediocre area and income area, not located in Midlothian (JTCC) who's pass rates have been shockingly low, or Richmond ( JSRCC) or VCU, and seems to be producing fine nurses.

i’m sorry to say but they don’t have that many graduates! i do know a lot about the school their drop/fail rate is way higher than jtcc or jsrcc. just this past graduating class lost around 14 students, and that’s not even counting how many they lost with the other semesters. i know a great deal about the school, so there is no need for more research. i pray that you do make it through, and don’t waste your time like so many before you. i don’t mean to upset you or sadden your joy, but i just hate to see that school hurt so many people. please do me a favor and apply to jtcc and jsrcc this spring i’d just hate for you to leave yourself with no options.

Some of you need to do your research. I am a student at SRMC and in my second of five semesters. We have 36 students in our class. We had two students drop last semester due to personal issues and they started back up this semester. Students who withdraw or fail their classes has nothing to do with the school. Nursing school is hard regardless of where you go and sometimes people realize it isn't for them or have personal issues come up in their lives. Doesn't reflect on the education provided. However, 100% pass rates DOES reflect on the education provided by the school. The numbers for the 2010 graduates were just published in a local paper (as well as at the school) and once again, 100% pass rate.

I love my experience at SRMC and wouldn't transfer for anything. The teachers are great and always available to help you and the hands on experience is amazing.

You and I know that’s not the truth! I wish you wouldn’t lie about two people dropping. I know of a person not even making it to clinical, and that wasn’t by choice, so it seems like you need to do some research. Once again 100% pass rate isn’t good when it's such a small amout of people. Good luck on that test your taking the 31st!

JTCC had 120 Students take the test

JSRCC had 104 Students take the test

SRMC had 29 Students take the test

Yes I just don’t know how SRMC got 100% and the others didn’t.

Here is the link to see just how many took the test

SRMC only allows 32 in each class now. I am in my second going onto third semester. you get way more clinical hours than JTCC ( i know this because both my parents also went to JTCC and the other to SRMC within the last 10 years) Our first semester 2 dropped due to personal issues too and only 1 failed out. our second semester a few more dropped mainly because of personal or other issues that were not related to the actual course. So this school is a very good school, so what if everyone doesnt make it to graduation to take the NCLEX um would you want a sub par barely passing nurse taking care of you? i dont think so.

so would you consider yourself a sub par barely passing potential nurse that people wouldn’t want caring for them?

the class that is graduating this month only has 4 people left from its original class yes i said only 4!!! the class started with i believe 31. this website is to help people out not for telling them wrong information. its misleading for people like you to say that they have a 100 pass rate and that people are willingly dropping for “personal issues” this is not true.
