Accepted into Nursing School

Published

Found out yesterday I got accepted into Nursing school!!!(yaaaaaayyyyy) My hard work is finally paying off!!! Now I just have done questions!!! does anyone have any tips for me? Things I should invest in to make my life easier and my semester go better? Study tips, organizations tips? Should I use binders for each class? anything u wish to tell me,tell me!!!! more hard work to come but I'm so ready for this new chapter in my life!! I just pray The Lord continues to give me strength to endure and not go crazy lol

I graduate in 3.5 months from an LPN program. All I can say is be prepared to work hard. Nursing school is very tough but doable. Read your chapters and take good notes. Also I bought my books per level instead of getting them all at once and you should definitely look into getting used books it's much cheaper. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Congrats! I found out a few weeks ago I was accepted to start my Nursing program in January as well! I am so excited. Most of the people I know who are currently in nursing school say start working on learning simple dosage calculation because you will be tested over it soon after the semester starts (In our program anyway....every program is different).

other than that we have a long list of things to complete before orientation so I am working through that and trying to decide which planner I think will work best for me...I've narrowed it down to 3 so far lol I dunno why this is such a hard decision for me lol

congrats, and good luck!

First off, congratulations on getting into Nursing School! You're all in for one of the hardest, most amazing rides of your life. Like one of the PP indicated, get some kind of calendar going and use it. My program supplied us with a calendar for each Semester so we knew when the exams were, what we'd be studying each week, or even each day, when we'd have a break from things, and so on. One of the things I did was put the major events on Google Calendar so that I could keep up with everything on a day to day basis. Since the calendar was kept "on-line" I had access to it all the time so didn't have to refer to paper for certain specific assignments. Also, I could modify my calendar nearly at will so that I could keep that always up to date. It was available on my phone so that I could quickly refer to it on the go.

Had that resource not been available, I would have done a lot of editing of my Google Calendar to have all that info handy there. It would have gone pretty quickly...

Whatever you do, make sure that you write down ALL of your activities on ONE planner. I blocked out all my class dates and times, clinical prep, exams, clinical days, work days, and so on all on google calendar so that I could make sure that my activities were all de-conflicted. It gets harder to keep things separate when you schedule your life across several planners because you'll have to refer to all of them when trying to schedule something new. Stay on top of your schedule and your studies and you'll find that you will have somewhat less stress during school. It's a process and it will force you to remain organized and it does work. Let it.

In a couple years, you'll look back and know that you have conquered the beast known as Nursing School and you're ready to do battle with the NCLEX and though it'll be the hardest exam you'll likely ever take, you'll emerge victorious.

Omg you start on the 5th too ??? That's amazing&& yes it's killing me too because I'm so anxious to start but wanna kindve relax before it gets intense!

Thank u all for the tips

My first level classes where fundamental concepts, a&p, pvr, math, nutrition, clinicals and ati exam. Second level was maternity nursing, pediatric nursing, med-surg, more clinicals and another ati exam. My last level is more med-surg, pharmacology, clinicals, 6 ati exams and I'm finally done. Then the most important test NCLEX.

plus we did multiple care plans, case studies, essays, etc.................. It's a lot of work but if I can make it this far anyone can.

I'm so excited! I have been an LPN for about 2.5 years now so I know how crazy school can get but for some reason I'm so nervous and anxious to start. I'm taking a DA class a Patho class and a Advance assessment class now, so I'm getting a taste of what look forward to. IT HAS BEEN A TOUGH SEMESTER!

Hello all,

I will also be starting in the spring!! I have been waiting for this for quite some time now. I can't believe I (WE) will be starting within a few months. good luck to everyone. And as @yourPhutureNurse said, we should bring updates. As time goes on I'm sure we will all need support from one another. ?

What program did you get into?
