Published

Found out yesterday I got accepted into Nursing school!!!(yaaaaaayyyyy) My hard work is finally paying off!!! Now I just have done questions!!! does anyone have any tips for me? Things I should invest in to make my life easier and my semester go better? Study tips, organizations tips? Should I use binders for each class? anything u wish to tell me,tell me!!!! more hard work to come but I'm so ready for this new chapter in my life!! I just pray The Lord continues to give me strength to endure and not go crazy lol

Specializes in ICU.

I say relax and enjoy the holidays. Wait until orientation to see what you need. We have different requirements for each class. Some want binders, some don't care. I did separate all of my stuff. I had separate binders for lecture and lab. It's very fun and I enjoy every day that I am there. Just relax now though and enjoy the holidays.

Congrats and bless you! I hope to be in your shoes soon. I am not a nursing student yet, but while getting my first degree I used a certain strategy to stay organized. I had one notebook for each class (one of those large 5 star mead notebooks.) I made sure the pages were able to be ripped out neatly. After I was done with an exam or finished with the semester (depending if the final was cumulative or not) I would remove the notes from my notebook and file them into a large binder. That way I could reference back to certain subjects if I needed them again through out the semester. I also kept one folder for each class where one side would hold handouts, assignments that needed to be completed. On the other I would keep assignments that were completed and ready to hand in.

I hope you keep us updating on how nursing school is going for you, i.e. first day, clinicals, etc. Good luck, : )
