I am so excited, I just got my letter today from NGCSU! I was completely shocked to get it today- I had been told letters wouldn't go out until April 1 or later. I have to accept or decline the spot by Feb 27. I also applied to Athens Tech and they are not making decisions until April. Obviously, I don't want to give up my spot at NG, not knowing if I will get in ATC. I thought I preferred ATC because it is cheaper. I have a BA already and I know if I qualify for any financial aid it will only be loans. I have been paying out of pocket for my prereqs and we could probably keep doing that at ATC, but probably not at NG. Also, the gainesville campus for NG is 18 miles for me, while the ATC is 44 miles. I have a lot of thinking to do-- does anyone have any advice??
Congrats to all of you....I got into NGCSU about 2 years ago, but had to opt. out due to having a brain tumor...I did not even apply for this coming Fall and still got a letter for NG saying I was being put on a wait list...can this be right? When I applied at NG 2 years ago, I got in the first time...however, after finding out about the BT, i wrote a letter trying to get back in...maybe that's why i'm on a wait list? I'm not going to get overly excited because i'm still recovering and this month is my one year anniv. of being a survivor...for now, I think I'll just take some classes at GPC for a while.

I am glad that you are recovering well.:heartbeat:yeah: I hope to have you as part of the 2011 class. Please do not waste time taking classes you do not need. Just do a lot of medical reading. Going to nursing school was a last minute decision for me. 1 day in late October I decided I needed a career change. Then I started looking for a subject of interest. I began to scramble to meet deadlines and here I am. If you really want to be a nurse you need to tackle the process. :pumpiron: Do not let an illness stop you. You are strong and you are a living proof.
So call the school and get more information. If you are willing to take classes at GPC, you can conquer the nursing classes. Make that phone call. . .

I did not want to ignore you. Unfortunately, I attended 4 universities, 2 of which I took science courses. My science grade were more A's than B's. I have been out of college since 2002. I took the TEAS at Kennesaw State University so the scoring was based on that university. My national percentile rank total score was a low 77. My national scores were as follows: Reading 87, Math 99, Science 72, and English 32:bluecry1:. Hopefully, that helps. . . .
Congrats to all of you who are accepted in the nursing program at NGCSU.
I'm a guy who got accepted in the ASN program, got the letter on Feb. 14th...a very beautiful day indeed!
Gainesville is my campus of choice. It would be great if we can connect before the program starts, at least we won't be all "alone". Being male, I know I'll be on the minority side
I'm looking forward to know you all, the class of 2011!
I'm another ASN student who will be there fall 2009...I'll be at Gainesville. I got my letter in Feb. also. I guess we're they're first picks
Okay I have to ask. How old is everyone? When I took the TEAS I felt like I was everyone's mother I am 44 (ummm...actually I'll be 45 when fall semester gets here) and I have a couple of other college degrees, 5 kids, and a homestead/farm so I have a lot of what some people like to call "life experience"...
Looking forward to meeting you all.

Hey! I am going to be at the Gainesville campus too. I just turned 37 this week, I plan to be an RN before I'm forty! This will be my second degree. I have two kids and have been a SAHM for the last 9 years. I felt like I was back in college again when I went to Dahlonega for the TEAS! Though, I have read in previous posts that the Gainesville campus does have mostly students with lots of life experience!
Congratulations to you--and to you too 650vstar! Look forward to meeting y'all!
I'll be 28 by the time we start the ASN program.
I'm married, no kids yet (have to finish school first ). Last year was my first year in college ever. My background is in construction industry (mainly hardwood floors and tiles).
It's good to have classmates with life experience, I believe that it makes the relationship with the instructors somewhat more approachable.
Are you guys and gals going to summer school @ Gainesville? I'm shooting for the BSN and I'm taking as many core classes as I can b/c once the core classes are done, the BSN program takes only a year, one day/week .
Maybe we can set-up a "meet-and-greet" before the program starts, what do you guys think?
Adrian
Okay. . .now are you all sure you at Gainesville campus? Is it that too many people do not know about this site or Nicole and I are the only 2 accepted to the Cumming campus at Lanier? :heartbeat It would be nice to have a meet and greet with all of NGCSU class of 2011 students. However, I would like to get to know fellow students at Cumming campus prior to class beginning. :typing

Congratulations to everyone who got into the program. Do they take students one or twice a year? What were your GPA's?
