I am so excited, I just got my letter today from NGCSU! I was completely shocked to get it today- I had been told letters wouldn't go out until April 1 or later. I have to accept or decline the spot by Feb 27. I also applied to Athens Tech and they are not making decisions until April. Obviously, I don't want to give up my spot at NG, not knowing if I will get in ATC. I thought I preferred ATC because it is cheaper. I have a BA already and I know if I qualify for any financial aid it will only be loans. I have been paying out of pocket for my prereqs and we could probably keep doing that at ATC, but probably not at NG. Also, the gainesville campus for NG is 18 miles for me, while the ATC is 44 miles. I have a lot of thinking to do-- does anyone have any advice??

Woo HOO!! Congrats on being accepted!!
I'm trying to get into their LPN-RN Bridge program. I got a letter on Thursday for me to schedule taking a drug calculation test in March. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed ; ) I REALLY want to get in.
Are you doing the RN or Bridge program? How many were they accpeting? I was also told that it would be end of March to 1st of April, but I don't see how that's going to happen if I'm taking a drug calc. test on March 31st. Maybe they'll let me know that day.
Anyway, good luck to ya and congrats again,
Cindy
Thanks! I am really excited! I feel like a weight has been lifted, knowing that I can start this fall. I was completely surprised, I didn't expect to hear anything until after April 1.
I'm doing the regular RN program. I believe I was told they accept either 150 or 170 and they got 700-800 applicants. I don't know how that works with the bridge program though- if those numbers include both types of applicants or if the bridge is separate from that. I know that includes about 40 for the Gainesville campus, about 40 for the campus on the Cobb side of town and the rest in Dahlonega.
Good luck to you!

CONGRATULATIONS, Nicole!!! :yeah:YEsss, that makes 3 of us that I know of so far. What campus will you be at? Mom2000 and I have actually been doing a little chit-chat at the site I am pasting: https://allnurses.com/georgia-nurses/2009-ngcsu-bridge-354150.html#post3441728.
However, we need to move our discussions to this post. We will be at the Lanier campus. It would be nice to get to know all or most the class prior to Fall 2009. We will do this. . .Class 2011 will have 100% pass rate.
I believe that I will be at the Lanier campus as well. :)
Ok Nicole and Mom2000. I will be at the post office waiting for the doors to open tomorrow. Today is a federal holiday they are closed. I am mailing this letter with wings and a confirmation receipt. I want it to get there FAST and with a receipt that it was delivered. :DYes yes. . .
I'm with you at the post office, first thing tomorrow! It had even crossed my mind to hand deliver it to Dahlonega!
LovnLife, I got your pm, but I can't pm yet. I'll send you an email.
CONGRATS Nicole!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mom2000 -
NGCSU does not require me to retake the science courses. Only Gordon. I am withdrawing and settle for the lost of money I paid for the classes. I will try to work more now to save money. I will be paying for this degree out-of-pocket. I am not going to waste time continuing the classes at Gordon when I know, definitely, I will be attending NG's nursing program. NGCSU was my top choice. They have been really nice and fast to respond. They were the first to confirm the application to NG and annotate my records expediently upon receipt of transcripts, immunization, etc. The nursing department was very helpful, especially Ms. ML. THANK YOU SO MUCH, MS. MPL.:heartbeat:bowingpur You are an angel. Okay, but yes, there were several students who took paper/pencil TEAS at KSU oon the deadline. There was a bis mix-up with all of that. I made phone calls after phone calls to fight for us to get considered. The KSU proctor was extremely helpful and responded quickly. :bowingpurShe made it happen and we were considered. Now here I am and there I will go!!! Forget Gordon making me retake my science courses. I was a science major with A's so forget them.
Mom2000-
Maybe w, the student's of Gainesville and Lanier, can we every now and then to discuss what we are learning and insights of what we hear about the field, studying, tips, etc. You had me all hype about meeting 3 out of a possible 40 at Lanier campus. Still let's keep in touch. We can begin a studygroup website to communicate with all of the NGCSU nursing students. YIPPEE
I was excited too, now I'm the only Gainesville one so far! Keeping in touch and sharing info sounds good to me. Looking at the posts from a couple of years back, I guess we are going to have a lot to get done- uniforms, stethocope, books, CPR cert, and that I Can camp I read about. I guess we'll get our info soon, i am just getting ahead of myself!
That's great you were a science major! I was social work, but I had nursing in mind even back then. I never thought I could do the sciences though, and I probably would not have done well back then! After being a SAHM for getting close to ten years, my brain was ready for something other than kids and I have made all A's in the sciences! I am so ready for this.
Oh, and forget the now what? from my first post here- Even if I get in at Athens Tech, there are just too many good reasons to choose NG!
Yes Mom2000. . .Please do no go to ATC. Your chances of getting employed are better as a NGCSU grad.
