ACCEPTED to Nassau Community College Fall 08

hello everyone...have been viewing the site for a while...just recieved my letter yesterday so I decided to join lol....any suggestions for the fall and anyone else here who got accepted to NCC for Fall 08 day?

you wont be allowed to use a pda.. thats for mostly when you graduate.. If you should have a certain teacher and you should ask if you need a PDA or if you can use a recorder she will yell at you.. so private message me and let me know who your teacher is hahaha! I'm completely serious!

while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:
  1. it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.
  2. while allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.

Does anyone know how hard it is to get into this program coming from VEEB? The LPN to RN advisor at Nassau made it sound a little too easy to transition in. They have an articulation agreement with VEEB.

Also what is Integrated Science?

if you pass the LPN program you can jump over 101 and go into 105 but remember your going through a whole year of LPN then you have to go to Nassau take the pre reqs/ then pass a test and /:banghead:then possibly skip 101 and get into 105... In that case you'd have still another year to complete your degree. I mean it could take 4 years ! you know what I mean?

Thanks for replying. I have the prereqs accept for Micro and Integrated Science. What is Integrated Science? Does Geology count? Do you know their artic agreement with Veeb?

You would need medical microbiology, integrated science (I think ) is like a class that you can take instead of medical microbiology to get in but it doesn't really count if you continue on. I am not 100% sure about that though but! if you have it all the better. Geology wouldn't:no: count towards that degree.

Thanks Sunshine...I knew I was pushing my luck with Geology. lol..I went to Nassau today to speak with the LPN to RN professor and she stated either Micro OR Integrated science would be acceptable. Of course, it's more beneficial to have Micro for nursing.

To tell you the truth, I loved medical Micro! I even took it in the summer! It was so interesting and it can really open your eyes to the world of things you cant see! Good luck with the LPN to RN program!:bow: I love these faces!!

Is it possible to take the Micro class with a nursing class in the same semester? If not, how long was it in the summer?
