ACCEPTED to Nassau Community College Fall 08

hello everyone...have been viewing the site for a while...just recieved my letter yesterday so I decided to join lol....any suggestions for the fall and anyone else here who got accepted to NCC for Fall 08 day?

Congrats to everyone who was accepted. I was accepted as well for Fall 2008 and i'm soo excited. I got Glen Cove hospital which i'm happy with. Any advice would be appreciated!!! Looking forward to meeting all of my classmates!!!!!

Hey there..

I was also accepted to Nassau's fall program and completed the interview and registration today.

Any advice out there -- specifically on the hospitals for clinical? I am considering trying to switch with someone for New Island because it is more convenient location wise.

Im in k2 - what section are you in? Im going to Glen Cove. I dont know much about that hospital

Anyone for that matter, if youre in the G section im your girl if you wanna switch

Congrats......Another member of the male nursing tribe is entering Nassau. Best of luck to you. I just graduated from their program last week. Took me three years. Yes its a 2 year program, but who is counting.

Anothermale....i have a ton of info and paperwork that might help you in the coming months. Feel free to contact me and ill see what i can get to you.

As far as books you might need...yea Kozier and Brunner are definetly a must, but as far as the tests go.....you better pick up "Fundamentals of Success" By Vitale. I swear to g-d that this book will get you through 101. I got an A using it and i highly reccomend it to anyone going to Nassau.

Congrats everyone. I will be applying to Nassau Nuring Program in March. I have a 3.5 and I am worried that it isn't good enough. Is it???? Anyone willing to share what their GPA was when applying. I am struggling with the possibility of taking a couple classes over to get A's instead of the B's I already have. Thank you!!!!

Hey everyone-

Well we are getting quite close aren't we? i was wondering if anyone was going to buy a pda? does nassau even allow them? are they worth it? i have never used a digital recorder and i'm looking for some suggestions and if you think they are helpful in the program.

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you at the orientation!!!!!!!:yeah:

Sarah: I don't know if they're allowed or not, but I'm going into second year of the program at NCC and I have never seen anyone use one. I wouldn't bother. Just buy a good drug guide and take it with you.

Also, I would wait to buy a digital recorder before checking with your teachers as some, if not most of them, do not allow you to use them.
