hi, I got accepted to QCC and NCC and still confused about which to choose. Does anyone have any information about the program in the school and the passing rate? I will graetly appreciate it and help me in my selection. Thanks
Thanks, you won't belive how difficult it was to choose, the deciding factor was the lifespan class Qcc wanted. I had to take it this summer or in the fall with the nursing class or I would not be able to go further and fact that there was no parking around the hospitals for QCC. I already took a child psych class for NCC.

Congratulations! They are both reputable and great schools. My only advice is to strive for an ''A" in Anatomy & Physiology 1 and 2 which will give you a better chance of getting accepted into clinicals. I heard there is a waiting list for clinicals at both schools. Good luck! I wish you all the best!!!!!!!!
I am a student in my last semester at NCC. It is a very good school and prepares you very well for both working in the hospital and the NCLEX. The passing rate for the last class was 96% on the first try! Also, the hospitals we do clinicals in are nice. Most of the teachers are really good and helpful. There are maybe one or two that you really have to read ALL the assignments for (Don't take a class with Prof. Fitzgibbon) but most of them prepare you very well for the tests entirely through their lectures. I'm in the evening program and our class stayed together throughout the entire program which was also very helpful because we're like family now. It was a lot of work in the first year but it was to prepare you for nursing and to make us really good nurses. The second year has been a breeze to me. Much easier than the first. We already know what to do as far as care so the focus is more on time management and PRIORITIZING, which I heard is BIG on the NCLEX this year.
I don't know much about QCC but I've heard it's also a good school. I think you should take into consideration what hospitals you would be interested in working at. If you like the LI hospitals, NCC is great. If you prefer Queens hospitals maybe QCC would be better because of the hospital choices for clinicals. I really like the Long Island hospitals and NCC has a great reputation both in LI and NYC.
Whatever route you decide to take, I wish you all the best!!!

NCC doesn't go by waitlist. You just apply and if they decide to accept you, they do. If they don't accept you, you just have to apply again the next semester. If they expect to have extra seats or someone decides not to accept entrance into the program, then they may select the next qualified applicant but after all the seats are full they start fresh for the next semester with a new pool of applicants.
I also go to NCC and am at Plainview for clinical this semester. Plainview is a wonderful hospital; I've felt very comfortable there working with all the nurses I've met and have really enjoyed Plainview. NCC's nursing program is very tough.. but that's also why it has such a reputation; it only graduates the best.
NCC actually does have a waitlist, but generally 3.6+ are accepted (although not every semester because seats are limited and acceptance GPA is based on how many seats, how many applicants, and applicants' GPAs.) I only know this because I have a close friend who was waitlisted the semester I was accepted.
Hi. :) People are waitlisted for the semester until all the seats are full. But they don't roll the waitlist over to the next semester like some might think when they hear waitlist. After all the seats are full, you have to re-apply for the next semester. That's what I was talking about when I said they don't have a waiting list. So it's not like you have to go up against people who are on a waiting list before you apply. Everyone is considered equally, even if it is your 5th time applying. They pick the top candidates and have a list of everyone in order so if someone decides not to come into the program they just pick the next person on the list. But once that semester's pick is done, no one is held on a waitinglist for next semester's admissions.
Sorry if I wasn't clear in my post. :)

You can not go wrong with either one. I personally like QCC. but you should chose what works for you. Think about the winte r and the commute is you dont drive. Both school are great!!!
