I have just been accepted to the Emory BSN nursing program for fall 2009 and I just wanted to know if other accepted students would like us to communicate and help each other prepare for the fall. We can discuss anything from immunization, PDA, housing to financial aid.
I would also like current student and alumni to mentor us in order to make our preparation smoother. Any advice is welcome since you've been there before from what type of stethoscope to which brand of PDA to buy.
I am a very meticulous person and would like every thing to go perfectly that is why I need all the advice that I can get so that come August, we would all be ready and prepared for the challenging two years ahead of us.

Hi Jo Jo Girl and current students of Emory Nursing. I was wondering what type of PDA you use and does the department recommend a particular brand. Where did you get yours? Was there one that you wish you would have bought instead you what you have?
In an earlier post one of the current students said the school recommended the Palm TX. It can be purchased online at Wal-Mart or you can purchase it at Best Buy.
Yes. This is the 2nd of those 2 weeks. I don't know what's taking so long. I would email her, but she hears from me all the time. I figured if someone else emailed her, who hasn't previously, then it wouldn't seem like we're bothering her.
I still have not received my NEAT letter that she sent on the 9th. I live in the ATL area, so I don't know what should take so long. I plan on emailing Katie if I have not heard anything by 17th, 2 weeks from the 3rd (when I got the email from her, saying we will find out in the next two weeks).
I am pretty frustrated too, but if I plan my strategy, I feel better.
I will be there on the 20th. If we don't know anything by then, we can gang up on them.
I have not gotten that letter either! I kind of lost hope in the Neat now, I figured if I did not get the call then I did not get the NEAT! When I emailed Katie I asked her if she could tell me through email if I received the scholarship, and she said that she could not, so that really put a damper on my spirits! I was thinking of giving up the Emory dream because of that, but my husband convinced me that I should not because I've worked so hard to get where I am! My EFC is so high I am really scared of the amount money I will have to borough in loans, but I think that it will be worth it because I plan on also getting a masters degree and going to Emory will make that transition a bit smother.
I emailed Katie on Friday to ask her when the letters were going out, and I got an answer on Monday saying they were going out then (on Monday). So maybe we'll get them today or tomorrow?? I want to email her about financial aid, but again, I feel like she hears from me all the time. Seems like she hears from a lot of us! Can't wait to meet some of you on Monday!
