accepted Emory students fall 2009

Published

I have just been accepted to the Emory BSN nursing program for fall 2009 and I just wanted to know if other accepted students would like us to communicate and help each other prepare for the fall. We can discuss anything from immunization, PDA, housing to financial aid.

I would also like current student and alumni to mentor us in order to make our preparation smoother. Any advice is welcome since you've been there before from what type of stethoscope to which brand of PDA to buy.

I am a very meticulous person and would like every thing to go perfectly that is why I need all the advice that I can get so that come August, we would all be ready and prepared for the challenging two years ahead of us.

Thanks to all who will join the group and to all who will advise us.

Really appreciated.

Nothing.......

Well, I attended the Emory Visitation Day. It was interesting. I was in group C, so did a tour of the school and it was awesome. Then we had lunch and then we joined the Integrated Science class. All in all, it was a good day for me. I only met sofa8 although I kept asking around if students were using this site.

Also, Katie kept saying that letters would be sent out this week so fingers crossed.

That is too funny! We were on the same tour! lol! I was with Trish and we were talking for a while before we realized who each other was! We also met Erin during the lunch break.

Oh my ggodness, I cant believe we missed each other and were all in the same group? I don't know about you guys, but I feel 100 percent more anxious than I did before the class visitation, especially about financial aid. I feel like they did not really give any difinitive answers. I am really begining to doubt that my Emory dream will come to past

That is unbelievable! Ok I was the black girl wearing black pant and white/cream top with my hair backwards. I think I asked the last question about what help they can offer, just incase the financial aid they offer is not enough and Katie said they had some preferred lenders blah blah blah. I was sitting at the back. Trish, I think I remember speaking to you.

I was in group B. I met some of you during lunch. I looked for others on the tour. I wasn't sure if any of you were on the tour with me. It seems that group C ended up getting isolated from the other groups because of the schedule. I am thinking I will have to do private loans to go to Emory. I am quite uncomfortable with this because I already have a lot of loans, but lots of people tell me it is easy to get nursing school loans taken care of once you work at a hospital.

Hey Everyone!

I wasn't able to attend Visiting Day yesterday, but I was wondering with the exception of not hearing anything concrete about financial aid, was it a good visit? Did I miss anything by not being there?

Odooma I was walking behind you and with you! I had on the black top, blue jeans and sneakers, curly hair and black glasses!

It was really nice meeting you all! Hopefully next week all of this financial aid stuff will be behind us. I know its not easy but just have faith that everything will work out the way it is supposed to.

I do remember you odooma! I have to say that I left the visitation more frustrated than I was before...The tour was impressive I thought, the campus is beautiful! I too think that if I am deciding on Emory that most of my tution will be paid with loans, I am not quite comfortable with that, but I need to just put my head down and get this degree!!! I so look forward to meeting you all in person, I think that we can form a great support system here! Thank-you for all of your support and encouragement through this process

I can't remember who said it, but are we supposed to receive our fin. aid awards by Friday or are they mailing the award letters out by Friday?

I thought Katie said that we should get something by May 1st, I'm really confused as to when we'll be receiving what

I emailed Katie to ask her, but I got an out of office reply. DANG!!!!!
