I just got my letter Wednesday that I have been accepted :yeah:to Drexel's ACE program for Spring 2009, I am excited:lol2:, scared:scrying:, nervous and anxious. I have been readying the boards everyday for a month before I joined, I have found so much useful information:bowingpur. If anyway has word of wisdom, encouragment, I welcome them with open arms.
Hello everyone! I just found out on Friday that I was accepted to Drexel for the Spring of 2009! I am so excited and so relieved! Just wanted to contact some of my fellow classmates so that we can get a chance to know each other before classes begin in March! Congratulations to everyone that has been accepted! If you are still considering Drexel for the Spring of 2009 the website says that they are still accepting applications, so get em' in!! :)
Hey!
Congrats on your acceptance!!
I just started the application process last monday. I was just wondering when you started your application process? That way I have an idea on how long it will take to hear something back from Drexel. Is there anyone in particular you talked to at the nursing school that helped you with the application or someone I should be in contact with to make sure they look at my application?
Please let me know...i would really appreciate it!! I really want to start in Spring 2009. I really hope there is a seat left for me.
THANK YOU!!
My application was complete about a month after the "early decision" deadline of April 15th. My application decision took 9 weeks after they had my complete application in. I think it took "longer" as I probably wasn't a cut and dry decision. I was told it normally takes 4-6 weeks (the website says 6-8 I think). The only classes I retook were organic chemistry (because I failed the first semester) and the 3 biology courses (A&P 1 and 2, microbiology) to get them current (within 5 years).
Hello all,
I am actually a Fall 2008 ACE student, so school starts for me in a few weeks.
I applied to Drexel back in February, and after jumping through quite a FEW hoops (long stories involved) I was accepted. To be quite honest, my college grades weren't high, but I did well in the pre-reqs. That's the main thing they are looking at. If you are doing fine in the Chem, Bio, A&P, Micro, all the important classes, then you are fine.
When I was applying (and all the problems arose) I called the admissions office directly. They will put you in contact with an admissions counselor. They are helpful, though be prepared to wait for someone to answer the phone.

Hi Sweels9! Congratulations on your acceptance!
I just sent in my app...officially completed early OCT and found out today I was accepted for the spring 2009 start... I am trying to find a future spring student that I could link-in with to share information and concerns... if you are willing please message me so we could exchange emails, thanks!
Hi!!!!! I'm also going to Drexels ACE program in Spring 2009 :loveya: I'm sooo excited and nervous, I can't take it! Still finishing up pre-reqs now though, so I'm occupied. I got my fafsa back last week, didn't get much money from them so I have to take out private loans. Anyone have advice about where to do this?? I'm going to PNC tomorrow b/c I heard they have a great interest rate for their health school professions loan. I am buggin' out that I might not get the full loan I need! I think my statement said $18,000 something for the half of year, not 16....maybe I read it wrong, I HOPE! hah. please let me know anything and congrats to all!
Maralice911, congrats -
When did you find out your financial aid from them in comparison to finding out you were accepted? I recently find out I was accepted to the spring start...but am awaiting the financial good news or bad news so I can see the 'loan' situation.
Hiddencat, I searched the boards a bit ago.. i seemed to remember people finding out about the fall start in late nov/dec... I would search back last year and you should get a better idea good luck~

The tuition is 16k. The "fees" are like 2k. Don't forget books. "Transportation" at 1800? That's a joke. Insurance is like $1,000. I guess as long as I don't need much gas or any repairs.. Health insurance (which is mandatory).
Yeah.. I got the same thing. $6,250 in 'offered financial aid' (Stafford loans). And, yeah, I'll have to figure out where to get loans. I also don't know when I should have all the loans figured out. Classes are still 6 months away...
hiddencat, I'm not sure when you'll hear back. I got accepted after waiting 8 or 9 weeks.

thanks for writing back. my undergraduate cumulative gpa isn't that great...changing majors and all that mess. I have been trying my best to clean my grades. I hope they can see that. I really hope they don't loose my transcript..i always have the worst luck with that. I talked to someone at the school today and they said after they receive the transcripts..it would be about 6 weeks. I really hope it doesnt take that long. I am going to be broke from applying to other nursing schools in the meantime.
Do you know if they are critical about retaken classes?
