Accepted Cochran Nursing School

Hi everyone has anybody here about the saturday section at cochran. Can someone advice me if the saturday section is better or the same as the evening section at cochran?

Hi Crystal,

I'm also accepted in their Saturday program. From what I was told, we only go to class on saturdays (hehe thus the Saturday program) at the campus and two nights clinicals from 5:30 to 11:30...Are you taking Dosage Calculations this summer? I enrolled in their pilot online class and so far so good =)

hi-

i have decided to secure a permit sit for jan. so i can take nutrition in the fall at bmcc. how did you know when to register for the dosage class did they send you a letter? have you done to orientation? i just got a letter letting me know that i was accepted the fall waiting list and a permit sit for the spring. i also got the medical package to be filled out by my doctor.

On the day of my interview, I was told that I am accepted into the program and was asked if I would be interested in taking the online dosage class this summer and that I will be getting my acceptance letter in a few days. I also got my medical stuff and completed it. I received a phone call from the school a couple of weeks before the dosage class was set to start and was required to come in on the first day (June 1st). Class ran for four weeks. Today's our finals. I'm still waiting for my packet for orientation and registration, but I was told it will be on the first week of August. I was under the impression that we can take the non-nursing classes at the same time as the nursing classes at a different college besides Mercy. Did they tell you that you have to take nutrtion before coming in Cochran? cause I'm planning to take Nutrition either Fall or Spring at Nassau CC...

yes, they told me that i can take nutrition at the same time, however, because i work full-time and go to school at the same time. i didn't want to go to different schools at the same time. from what i understand time is every essential once you start the clinical. you are very lucky that you were accepted in the interview. it took them 3 month after my interview before i was accepted into the program. i was even thinking that i wasn't going to get accepted. i was very surprised when i did. good luck on your final.

How is the dosage cal.? Any suggestion in how to get a good grade in this class. I understand that one must get an 85% in order to pass. Scary! I took this class at bmcc, however, they are not accepting the class because they want me to take the course for there school. I have to repeat. hopefully, I can get an A like I did at bmcc.

Hello All,

Congrats on your acceptance into Cochran School of Nursing:yeah: :yeah: :yeah:. It is a great school. I am entering into my third semester. I am a Saturday student as well and there is no big difference between days, evenings and saturday classes. I would not trade it for the world! Math Dosage can be a killer! You have to be dedicated to learning it and its basically self taught. If you should need any help or have any questions for me feel free to send me an email.

The teachers are great!! Math Dosage is something in its self. If you are great in Math than you are fine and if your not you will still be fine you just have to put a bit more effort into it like I did. I knew someone who failed out because they could not make it pass Math Dosage. Dedication is the key. Some books are a waste of money some will be you guide through out your time at Cochran.

I've been reading the messages on this forum for months now and finally decided to join in. I've been accepted to Cochran but will start in the Spring. I wanted to get a head start on the Math Dosage because I suck in math. If anyone can tell me what books will be used or sell me their old book it would be appreciated.!! Thanks

Congratulation! I am also going in for the spring. What section will you be in, sat. eve. or day? I am in the sat section. I also would like to get a head start on the Math dosage class, however, this class is a repeat for me being that I took this class at bmcc and I am required to take it again for Cochran. I loved this class at bmcc, however, I dont know how hard it will be at Cochran being that passing is a 85%. Let me know if you find out any information regarding books that we can buy in order to study.
