Hello everyone,
Has anyone been accepted to Cochran Nursing School? I'll be in the evening program, then I'll apply for the accerated part of it in the summer. I'm coming from queens to go to Yonkers. Whewww! I got in just in time because next year they won't do the roll in basis. They will select who has the highest GPA. Has anyone heard of the program?

I too got accepetd to Cochran day program. And would like any info possible as well. I'm either gonna go to Cochran or Dorothea.
I read that Cochran has a pretty tough program. Passing is a 78. Dorotea Hopfer is 75. I'm ok with the 78 passing on exams as long as the professors/exams are not set-up for us to fail. That's my biggest concern. I don't want to end up in a school that will set us up for failure. And I also read in their website that their is a math exam where you must receieve an 85. I don't know what that's about? I'm going to follow this thread and hope that someone can give us more info about Cochran.

I also got accepted to Cochran for their Saturday theory program. I got a chance to speak to some of the students who are graduating from Cochran this year. They said that the program is rigourous, but can be done with determination and sacrifices.
I started to apply for Dorthea H. but opted for Cochran since they have put in to be accredited by the NLN.

I don't think there accepting anymore applicants for the fall 2007 semester. But you should totally call them and find out.
Yes, there is an entrance exam it's the TEAS and afterwards they will likely call you in for an interview. Good Luck!
Thanks for all your comments, I'm going to the Saturday program. I'm really looking forward to it. However, every student I talk to no matter what program there in said it is really tough. So like you all mention. I just have to focus, make sacrifice and know I won't have a life for a while.
The Cochran program is on a roll in basis, but next year all that might change. My interviewer mention they might go with the Highest GPA. So maybe that will start next year. If I were you, I'll apply now, give them your transcript and take the teas test. Than you'll be the first one consider for the January class.

Thanks studentrn4me, do you attend the school. If so what do you think of the program?
is there LPN in cochran as well?
There is not a LPN program, but there is a LPN to RN accelerated program. I wish I was a LPN because I will sure take advantage of it.
there is no lpn program, but they accept lpns into the program.
