Accelerated BSN program NYU Fall 2011

Published

Hi hopeful Fall 2011 NYU students!

I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.

I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.

Love to see who all is applying and how it's going:)

Nessa you applied way before me so you should be hearing soon. I applied by April 1 deadline.

Cabrini28 When did you apply. No emails from them at all?

I applied on Jan 18th and still haven't heard anything :( Maybe they are doing it in alphabetical order.

washcaps I applied super early too, but February 1st...my last name starts with an H though? Gahh, I'm hoping that's not a bad sign...

Good luck everyone...I'm praying we find out this week!!

washcaps have you emailed admissions that seems a bit much to me, when you took the time aside to apply so early. I hope you get good news.

Where did it say incomplete on Albert, I just see the checklist with nothing ticked off.

I got past the student ambassador, and spoke to an admissions lady who recovered my transcript in the office after initially telling me it was missing, it hadn't been cross referenced to the rest of my application due to a difference in surname as I'm married now, I was sure I sent that with a form attached stating my married name. Sorted now nevertheless.

My checklist also has the wrong university listed, listing one I attended for a year but I got my degree from another place, I informed admissions and she said she'd get my papers in order today, so since they don't even review an application until all components are put together it's safe to say mine is not under review yet and I won't be hearing anything for a while, I dug out the postal receipt for my transcript and it was 3/16.

Also unsure if I'll be reviewed as an accelerated applicant or a traditional, since I applied traditional following advice on the accelerated admissions page because I need a couple of semesters to do most of the prerequisites. I have emailed a known name in admissions about this.

Looking forward to not having to speculate everyday and getting some answers, good luck to everyone still waiting.

Hi Joel,

I applied on March 23. I did get an email that they received my application and I also got an email with the Net id. Sorry what i meant was no letter yet. They told me i would hear from them the beginning of April.

Thanks all, I called and spoke to a counselor today who said my application is complete but still under review. Despite applying so early, I'm sure my app was reviewed with everyone else's who applied by the priority. I think this is just due to the nature of rolling admissions, not a reflection of the quality of my application (which I think was pretty good). Keeping the hope alive for Friday!

Good Job for calling... Yea, I think we just have to chill and wait it out. It's so hard to do though. I can't concentrate in my studies although I enjoy Microbiology... hehehe

Cabrini - I applied around the same time you did and they told I should hear back sometime in May.

Oh no. Just got my Financial aid award and it isnt much. What do you guys plan on doing for loans? Im kinda feeling discouraged.

Hey guys!

My application no longer it says that it is incomplete either!! SO exciting! Although my transcripts aren't checked off yet... However, I do know for certain that they have them as an admissions rep confirmed that for me. Again, I applied just shy of the April 1st deadline as a transfer applicant for the accelerated program. I know it will probably be a while until I hear... but I am getting excited!

If you don't mind me asking, how much financial aid do they provide for their students?

Thanks Joel for the info. The wait is very nerve wrecking. I applied to the traditional bsn as a transfer student. how about you?

this might sound like a dumb question but where do you guys see whether your application is considered incomplete/complete. my transcripts are all checked off on albert but i can't seem to find "incomplete/complete"
