accelerated bsn program at njcu in jersey city, nj

Does anybody attend the accelerated BSN program in NJCU? If so what is the cost of the program? How competative is it to get in? Will they accept you if your overall GPA is lower than a 3.0 but you have a very high GPA in your prerequisites? Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

hi was a&p 1 and 2, microbiology the only prereq. you did?how about statistics and the rest?

Thanks. I am going to take get my transcripts from njcu and then register for a&p1 and dev pysch at hccc. I hope the classes are still open.

Hey Miralpn,

What I meant was that microbiology, A&P 1 and 2 were the only SCIENCES that I took. Yeah, I also had to take statistics and child psychology.

Thank you so much for the info. Me and my husband work together and will be laid off some time next year. I will be going into the nursing program at njcu, if accepted, in Sept 2009. Right now I am registering to take my prerequesities. However, I will be on unemployment later on in 2009, so I hope I can get this benefit as well. I did not know anything about this program. It will def. be a great help since I won't be working and my husband will be looking for another job.

If you're considering going to NJCU @ Brookdale, they're having an information session on Wednesday, August 20 at 6 pm. You'll be able to learn about their admission requirements and receive answers to any questions you may have. If you'd like to attend, [PM member for info]

Hi Joanne82 - I graduated from NJCU's Accerated Program May 2008. I took my Boards and passed. Now I am having difficulty finding an RN position. I don't know if the market in northern nj is glutted or not. But I keep trying. My advice to you if you get in the program is to be sure you stay on top of everything. My class had a bumpy experience, but probably because we were the first class through the program. As far as what GPA's and such, there is no rhyme or reason to it. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.:)
