hi everyone... so i've been asking questions and love the education i'm getting on this site. So, i hear different opinions on how much accelerated BSN costs. I would like to hear from those that went to an Accelerated program and/or attending one at the moment and know how much it cost them and which state it is? i just want to have an idea as to how much it would be so that i would be better informed when i look into the schools. i also wonder if state schools would be cheaper? Thanks guys.

I didn't do one but my coworker did (I forget the name of the program, but it was in Illinois) and she said that her 1 year of education cost her 60K. She also couldn't get federal aid because it was a second Bachelors. Ouch.

The one I'm starting at the end of this month is in Arkansas, and costs about $20K, not including room and board. It is a state school, and I'm quite sure that state schools would be cheaper. I feel for the person who couldn't get aid, though. ASU has worked it out where we can get almost all of the program covered by Stafford loans.

Whatever the tuition is at that school times the number of credit hours it takes to complete. Probably somewhere between $300 and $700 a credit hour I would imagine. I opted out of doing an accelerated BSN because I can get my ADN free and land the same job and employers will pay for RN-BSN. I'll end up a RN in the same amount of time but I'll have zero debt! Can't beat it.

16 thousand through MN State MKTO.....

I am in an accelerated BSN program now (mid point) and it will end up costing about $27K for 16 months (excluding books/uniforms) assuming they don't raise the tuition in the next two semesters!

FYI, I attend a state school in NJ (UMDNJ).

Good luck!

50k for 12 months in CA - 12k federal loan, 40k alternative (personal) school loan

21 month accelerated NP program in massachusetts, private school, it will be about $130,000 total ($1000 per credit hour plus fees, transportation, and housing). all federal loans. wheee !

Why would anyone pay $130,000 for schooling (plus interest) when you could become a RN for around $6,000 and then have your employer pay for most of the RN-BSN and MSN/DNP coursework? The hospital I'll probably end up working at is part of a University so I could attend their RN-BSN and MSN program free once I'm working and the department works around my school schedule.

BC, Canada in Vancouver... will be about 25 , 000

I paid $21,000. Why would I commit to working for a specific hospital to get school for free when I might not like it? I'm glad I took out the loans and I have the power to say SEE YA if I want to! :)

The program I'm hoping to be in next year costs $15,500 as of this year's published stats for tuition and fees, so for the 2011-2012 program it will likely be a little more. It's a 14 month program.

I plan to take out loans for it, as well as additional loans to cover books, uniforms and living expenses, as I'm not sure if I will be able to/how much I'll be able to work during the program.

I'm planning to attend the University of Oklahoma's Tulsa campus. :)
