I have been browsing through all the topics and I see a lot of students doing the traditional way, going to school for 4 years to get a BSN and take the boards to be an RN! That's amazing, and Kudos! However, is there anyone who plans on doing an accelerate ADN? 1 yr core nursing program to get their Associates and then take the NCLEX? If so, when do you start? I'm so excited for June to get here!

I have honestly never heard of an accelerated ADN program. Do you already have an associate's degree? An accelerated BSN is for those who already have a bachelor's in something else.
No, I don't have an associates. Maybe I'm using the wrong wording? What do you call a 1 yr RN program that lets me finish with an associates?

I am enrolled at Keiser University in Tampa. I love it! I am 35 with a 2 year old. I feel I made the best choice for my situation. I wish you luck. Congrats! :)

I don't know if it's accelerate but the program I will apply to for next fall is 2 semesters (fall to spring). I can't wait to get in & get my RN!

I haven't heard of an accelerated RN. My program was two years, not counting pre-reqs. Most LPN classes are one year, and that is a lot of info in itself to be crammed in. Nursing school was hard enough through two years. I don't think I could have learned to act and respond as an RN in two semesters, let alone all the disease process/medication MoM and everything. If you can do it then go for it and best of luck. If I were you I would just make sure the program is accredited and respected in the area you will be working in. Good luck! :-)
MoA not MoM

Our community college has an accelerated ADN program for those who have a Bachelors degree (or higher). It is very fast paced and has very few breaks. They finish 5 months earlier than the traditional 2 year ADN.
It's 21 months total 9 months pre reqs and 12 months core RN. It's accredited for sure. No one has never heard of a program like this? Remember this is a private school so it's expensive as hell for the convenience of being quick...
Thanks! You too :)

I'm in an accelerated program at a private school. The core nursing classes take a little over 15 months. We have no spring or summer break, and only a week off between semesters. With the prerequisites, the program is just shy of two years. I am just finishing up my first semester of core classes. It's accredited and respected in my area. I love my school and program. It's known for being intense, but I'm really enjoying it.
