Hi there!
I will be applying to UMass Amherst for the Aug 2018 entering class. I wanted to start a thread for any prospective applicants.
Feel free to discuss anything! Hopefully we can all help each other through the next couple of months while we complete apps and await decisions.

I didn't submit the form, as when I applied in late October, it wasn't available/on the website. If you look at my above post, the link is there so you can see the form that I'm referring to.
Regarding the double-spaced thing, I think your best bet would be to email/call Admissions and ask, that's my 2 cents.
I did not see that form, do you think mine not being double spaced will be an issue. Also how did you submit the form
I did not double space mine or see that the form needed to be filled out. I just sent them an email. I also emailed them last week asking about the 500 word limit because mine was 550 words and they said they aren't going to be doing a word count but they wanted I‎t to be as close to 500 as possible.

That signed essay form isn't in the downloads under requirements. It's only under FAQs so I don't even know if it's a requirement. I just sent them an email and they will probably reply in the morning and I will follow up with what they say. I really hope not because my essay was a little over 500 words because CPE said "as close to 500 as possible" and that they weren't doing a count.
I did not see that form. I didn't know there were any formatting rules aside from keeping at or under 500 words. I feel like if the format is so important that doing it incorrectly gets you disqualified, the form would have been posted more prominently on the site, but who knows..

Hey everyone just wanted to say that I'm sorry if I made you all anxious with posting about this essay form. My intent was to be helpful as in this was what I noticed as I was browsing the FAQ page. I don't know if it's important or not but I did look at it and it did impart some pretty strict standards but then again it wasn't part of the application, it's puzzling, for sure.
I didn't submit the form either as I applied months ago so I'm in the exact same boat.
I also agree with what's been stated: that Admissions should've made the form more prominent if not IN the application itself if it is a requirement. And if it's not required, I don't really know why it's on the website. It'll be great to hear what CPE says.

If they required the form they should have stated it on the online app. Please update what you guys hear. Thanks a lot everyone for sharing.
I talked to CPE yesterday via email and they said the college of nursing DOES NOT require that form because when we submit our application we are signing that everything in the application is ours and true.
