I will be applying to UMass Amherst for the Aug 2018 entering class. I wanted to start a thread for any prospective applicants.

Feel free to discuss anything! Hopefully we can all help each other through the next couple of months while we complete apps and await decisions.

Hi everyone!

I'm just waiting to finish A&P2 and Micro then I'll be all set! I went to UMass and got a BS in Math and M.Ed, so I'm hoping for another degree from there.

I just finished Micro and A&P II as well! That was a fun semester lol.

From what I have read, they only look at prereq grades (3.0 minimum in prereq GPA). Is that your understanding as well?

Yes, that's true! Along with the recommendation, which I heard is pretty important.

Does anyone know the best way to reach them to see if they have received our letters of recommendations/transcripts? I have emailed and called but haven't heard anything back at all :/ Thanks for any info!

Hi all, I just submitted my application today!! Does anyone know when they will start sending out acceptance letters?

I also heard that applications are being reviewed on a first come first serve basis and we will hear back in about 4-6 weeks. I received an email from someone from admission who encouraged me to get my application in completely asap.

I also have a bachelors in Public Health, 3.2 Undergrad GPA, 3.3 Prerequisites GPA and 6 years experience working as Home Health Aide/ PCA and 2 years a MHC working in a hospital. Considering my GPA isn't too high i'm hoping the experience will help.

Does anyone know what's the best way to contact someone from admissions? I have emailed them over a week ago and haven't heard anything back. I just want to make sure they have received my transcripts and recommendations....

I've emailed [email protected] twice and gotten responses both times. Is this the same email you've been using?

yes! it's so strange because i only get automated messages back, saying they will get back to me but haven't heard anything back for over a week. And when i call them it's also just a voice recorded message. Sigh

Did anyone send their transcript via electronic pdf?

Did anyone send their letter of recommendation via the email provided on the Applicant Reference form??? That document we had to download and have our employer/professor fill out for us? I received a message from the school saying they never received my letter of recommendation(s). I'm quite worried because i'm 100% sure my recommenders emailed them. Did anyone else email it? Because that's what the instructions listed on the applicant reference form....
