Hi there!

I will be applying to UMass Amherst for the Aug 2018 entering class. I wanted to start a thread for any prospective applicants.

Feel free to discuss anything! Hopefully we can all help each other through the next couple of months while we complete apps and await decisions.

I got a email back saying my app is complete and I just have to wait.... Question, how many programs did you all apply to? I'm applying to 3 maybe 4

Hi guys I'm applying to the ABSN program too. Quick question, on the website it says to mail the essay, resume and recommendation letter to Continuing & Professional Education Admissions. Meanwhile, on the application I can attach my essay and resume and the pdf for the recommendation has an email address that it can be sent it to.

I'm so confused on what to do, how did you guys go about this?

Hi there - follow the instructions on the actual recommendation form. My letter was sent to the cpe admissions email and they replied very quickly to acknowledge receipt.

How long did I‎t take everyone to get a application completion email? I still haven't got any update on my application besides the one saying they got I‎t.

Hi Guys, need some advise on the essay. Did you guys write exactly 500 words and was it double spaced? Please advise. Thanks!

Hey, I wrote exactly 500. I double-spaced mine and wrote in 12 pt font, with 1 in margins all around. I just checked the website and now they have a form that you have to sign, certifying the essay is your work. This wasn't available/required when I applied in late October. But anyway! It also lists instructions on formatting and if you go over 500, you're application is disqualified. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hey, i applied in late October and submitted my official transcripts that same day. 2 weeks later, I followed up and was told to expect an email within a week. Waited a month and followed up again--finally heard from them that I was complete as of Dec 6th. So...my experience was that it may take awhile.

Ya it was in a weird spot--at the bottom of their FAQs page (on the side bar)
