So, I would really like to get into UMass Amherst for there 2015-2016 cycle, so I will be sending in my application soon for there February 2015 deadline.
I'm just wondering if I even have a chance since my Bachelors in Biology overall GPA is a 2.99, then I took a summer course (Microbiology) at a community college and received an A. Hopefully that'll boost my GPA up for my degree?
I also have over 2,500 hours as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and I've studied abroad in England/Ireland for a Biology course.
This is my number one school that I would like to get into too, I was just wondering other peoples statistics on their GPA average, GPA for their pre-reqs, and if anyone has been or is in the program can tell me about it?
I got a confirmation email, next Thursday as well. I don't know if doing an earlier interview will make a difference? I would think they'd wait till all interviews were completed to make admissions decisions, but I'm just speculating.

At my interview today I was told letters will go out in early March, and that there are 150 applicants (I think this means # of people interviewed) for 72 spots.
I also asked about the August start date. In case anyone else is wondering, it starts August 10.
You'll be fine, just be yourself! They just want to get to know you and hear that you've thought this decision through. They asked 4 questions, I think. And there was time for me to ask questions at the end.
I was nervous before, too, but it went fine. Just a conversation. They were very friendly!
Hi all, I also applied to the program at UMass and had an interview this week. Yeah, the questions are very simple and if you really want to and are prepared to become a nurse the answers will come very easily.
I was pretty confident that I would get in the program when I received the email about the interview. After reading these posts and knowing that they probably interview everyone i don't feel as confident anymore.
