So, I would really like to get into UMass Amherst for there 2015-2016 cycle, so I will be sending in my application soon for there February 2015 deadline.
I'm just wondering if I even have a chance since my Bachelors in Biology overall GPA is a 2.99, then I took a summer course (Microbiology) at a community college and received an A. Hopefully that'll boost my GPA up for my degree?
I also have over 2,500 hours as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and I've studied abroad in England/Ireland for a Biology course.
This is my number one school that I would like to get into too, I was just wondering other peoples statistics on their GPA average, GPA for their pre-reqs, and if anyone has been or is in the program can tell me about it?
Thanks :)
@egboeman and @jewels129 - I assume since you guys both interviewed early that's why you received your letters first. The deadline for March 9th- is that when they wanted to send out admissions by? I still haven't heard anything yet but I'm sure it's coming soon. -- To anyone that is still waiting for a letter also, they do have a wait list (no specific number, just random so FYI if you end up getting that kind of letter)... Did ya'll have a date when your deposits were due? I know last year they said the deposit was like $100 from what I heard.
Yes, I did interview earlier. It was Feb 19th. My letter was sent out the 20th and I got it on March 2nd. My deposit deadline was March 9th.
Hello all,
I applied for the accelerated program in early January, interviewed in February and just received a letter yesterday telling me that I was accepted!! Congratulations to everyone who has heard back and is excited to start the program. The next step for me would be to look for housing, potentially with 2/3 students from the program. I think it would be best if we all stayed in a close niche since this program is very rigorous. Has anyone considered looking for housing?
I also got my email set up - but I can't figure out how to get it on my phone yet. I followed all the instructions but no luck, so I'm hoping to chat with the help desk this week and see if we can figure it out.
I'm also looking for an apartment - ideally a 1 bedroom. I've been checking out craigslist and the college's off campus housing listings. There's already a lot of places listed for the summer/fall so I'm hopeful.
