ABSN NYU Fall 2016

I should be submitting my application by the end of this week. Just touching up my personal statement and hoping my LOR's get there on time. I had to send NYU's address to my recommenders bc they prefer to send them out so I hope they get there on time.

I'm so nervous!..I also have never volunteered or shadowed any nurses before, but I have been working as an aide for almost a year now so I hope thats okay

@Kd022 after you submit your application you will receive an account where you could check the status of all the paperwork so at least you'll know if anything is missing lol good luck! Fingers crossed!! â˜ºï¸â˜ºï¸

Hey everyone,

I also applied for Fall 2016. I'm already so nervous ahh! They are taking forever to check off that they have received my transcripts though. I sent my transcripts to NYU and Univ. of Rochester at the same time and UR received them already. I think I am going to give them a few more days before I call them and ask. I don't want to seem annoying haha

I applied to the University of Rochester too! lol and yeah I haven't gotten anything checked off either. Did you submit yours a while ago?

Really, that's cool! I mean UR has received everything from me like transcripts, letters, other documents and I sent everything out at the same time. Transcripts I sent out in like early Late Jan/ early Feb.

if you guys dont mind me asking, what are your stats? I'm graduating from a pretty good university, 3.7 science GPA and 3.5 overall, pretty stellar LORs. The only thing I'm semi nervous about is my resume...The only type of health care experience I've got is volunteering in a hospital a few summers ago.

@shaniceg hey! So I graduated with a 3.5 GPA and a 3.9 so far for my prerequisites! I'm still taking 2 right now so the GPA should be even higher by the time I'm done. I am also worried about my health experience...I've been volunteering at a hiv/AIDS clinic while I do my prerequisites, shadowing nurses and working closely with the patients so I hope that's good! Remember they look at other things other than GPA so I think as long as you have a strong personal statement, it should be okay!

Has anyone heard anything back yet?! So nervous. They don't even offer interview or anything. The next thing we heard is either the acceptance or rejection!

@kathywasabi I haven't heard anything yet. We should start to hear something by April but it can take until June. That feels like such a long time lol

Will they check off if they have received your letter of recommendations? Mine got sent out a while ago and it is still not up there

@kd022, they won't list your recommendation on the page, but I received a confirmation email stating the got the recommendation and that they were updating my application.
