I wanted to start a topic about ABSN program at CSULA for Summer 2018 and get some feedback about applying, stats, and more. I am looking to apply here and to other similar programs and I wanted feedback about your experiences.

hey guys! I submitted my application in person on Jan 10 and received a confirmation email on the 16th!

Does anyone know if every applicant should get an email that their application is received? Or do they only send it out to a certain few?

I was thinking of calling the nursing department and asking, unless someone in this thread knows.

Im not too sure because I submitted my application in person, I think around January 5th, and still haven't received any email from the department. Should I be worried?

I haven't received one yet either! I don't think we should worry yet... maybe we can next week? I'm sure they're still reviewing everyone's apps!

Hey all, I called them and they are still matching all the documents for each applicant. Everyone should receive an email confirmation that the application is complete, as a friend of mine received one weeks ago (I still haven't bc my undergrad transcripts went to general admissions initially). In addition, he explained that interview invitations will go out between late january and early March. This tells me that the interview process will be more of a "rolling admission" type approach; as we know some apps have already been marked as complete, whereas most haven't. Then they will review further and make final decisions once everyone interviewed. I don't think interviewing early is necessarily better, it's just they were able to review your completed app sooner. It looks like someone last year interviewed later in the cycle (early march) and still got accepted. good luck

I gave the nursing office a call, and from the sounds of it they don't send an email to all applicants notifying them that their application is received. But they did mention that they'll begin inviting for interviews in February.

Hey guys,

I received an invitation to interview today. I mailed my application Jan 2nd. My stats are 3.8 GPA

99% tile overall teas with

99% math

99% reading

99% science

95% English

Nervous about the writing sample though!

Science prereqs: all As, 1 B

General prereqs: all As, 1 B

TEAS: 90.7

Experience: Volunteering at hospitals, working as an EMT, military
