Go talk to a lawyer about this, we do not have the legal mind for this nor are we supposed to give legal advice.
A nursing license is huge and tough to obtain, so if it meant anything to you, you should discuss your options with a lawyer who is familiar with nursing.
And just as an aside, I don't see how the state boards would have given you a license if it was illegal in the first place, since they're supposed to do their checks before allowing you to take the licensure exams and/or actually issue you the license. Seems like a major error on their part. Either that or did they mean that your school just lost its accreditation? If that's the case then it shouldn't affect your license if you were licensed while the school still had its accreditation.
Did your school lose accreditation or get in trouble with the BoN? You may not have recourse if your program is a problem but you can still try. Did you go to one of the schools that send you out of the U.S. for clinical rotations?
TAANA Executive Office - Home the American Association of Nurse Attorneys has a lawyer referral service. They may be willing to negotiate a reduced consultation fee

Scary, and a reminder to always check program approval with state boards of nursing.

Greetings to everyone out there, i am an lpn in the state of Georgia. Two years ago i went to nursing school graduated, wrote my boards earlier this year, pass and and started practicing. My school main campus is in florida and what was supposed to be a satellite programme here in GA. recently i received a call from GA. BON saying that my school here was illegal and asking me to surrender my license or there are going to suspend it anyway. I'm so confused right now, i have no money to hire a lawyer still in school full time. i dont know if i should surrender or let them suspend it, i have till wednesday september 9, 2015. to make a decision. I dont know what else i can do to prove my competency to the GA. BON. Please any advice? Write a struggling and confused young man.
