Hi,
Well I am about to start Intensive Care so I don't know how "alike" these books are, but I really enjoyed Suzanne Gordon's Life Support. The real life stories of those nurses were beautiful and inspiring, not to mention that it gives an intimate look at the workings of the healthcare system. It was an eye opener for me. Anyway, if you decide to read it I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. :)
I am half way into the book Intensive Care and I think it is a great book. I will start nuring school in Fall '05 and I thought it was a great insight on what becoming a nurse and the challenges they face very real. I also plan to go into the ICU so it really helped me a lot to see if thats what I really want to do. Does anyone have any other suggestions on any other greta books to read? What are some other Echo books to read?
Hi everyone.
I've read Intensive Care and Critical Condition - I am now on Tending Lives and it is good too. I really enjoyed the first two on Echo's life. I'm halfway through Tending Lives and the previous poster is right - it is a quick read and gives a lot of different perspectives on the nursing profession. If anyone has any other RN authors, such as Suzanne Gordan and Echo Herron, they could recommend, I would love to know them. It is what is helping me get through all the dull core classes, kind of like the carrot in front of the cart! :) Reading about what I'll be doing really keeps me motivated.
Thanks!
