AACC Spring 2012 hopefuls?

Hello fellow MD nurses!

I'm just looking to see if there are any prospective Spring 2012 students at AACC? I'm finishing up A&P2 this summer and will be putting my application in in the fall. Anyone take the TEAS yet? Any advice? I'll probably take mine in August when I'm done with classes so I can focus on studying for that as opposed to my other classes.

What did you have engraved? I was joking with a coworker that I really wanted the skull and cross bones, and he said that it probably wouldn't be appropriate for a healthcare worker. I said that's why I want it!

I just got my stethoscope and cuff in purple today...and now I am hearing everything has to be white.

And I'm freaking out that I just wasted money I do not have.

I believe that the stethoscopes can be any color. Its the scrubs that have to be white.

AMC is right- your uniform has to be white, but you stethoscope and cuff can be any color you want.

so i heard the books were super pricey from anyone whos int he first semester or know someone how much did you spend on books

The books are definitely pricey- but the good news is that you use mostly the same books throughout the whole program, so you won't have to buy much for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th semester. I did a lot of shopping around and found that the 2 "bundles" are cheapest when bought through the bookstore, but almost everything else is a little cheaper on Amazon, especially if you're willing to take a chance on buying used. I think I saved about $150, or so that way.

I'm taking that class online right now for UMSON- Eng 207. It's fairly easy and common sense.

Are you accepting here and still waiting to find out about UMB?

I haven't heard of anyone out of county being accepted. Are you out of county and still waiting on an acceptance letter?

Since the deadline for accepting a seat in the class is this Wednesday, maybe you'll hear something back after that if they have any seats left. Good luck!! (:
