AACC Spring 2012 hopefuls?

Hello fellow MD nurses!

I'm just looking to see if there are any prospective Spring 2012 students at AACC? I'm finishing up A&P2 this summer and will be putting my application in in the fall. Anyone take the TEAS yet? Any advice? I'll probably take mine in August when I'm done with classes so I can focus on studying for that as opposed to my other classes.

Good job! What is AACC and/or hybrid? I applied for Spring Day RN at Essex and have not received any decision...so were you all accepted for something different?

AACC is Anne arundel community college. Seems to me you applied to CCBC & I'm not sure if they have sent out acceptance letters yet.

Congratulations again to all! I am so excited!

Had a question for anyone who may know the answer: If we do not get into hybrid option (which I opted into if available) what would the class schedule be like? I know that clinicals/labs will be weekend probably, but I am trying to get an idea of what day or time of day classes may be. I have a 4 yr old son and 15 month old daughter, so I am trying to be ready to find childcare if necessary! I don't know anyone in the nursing program currently.

Can't wait to meet everyone!

I could be totally wrong with this, but I got the impression that they'll be "regular business hours" -ish… like 7am-4pm M-F… I'm sort of in the same boat as you- I have a 5 year old (in school and needs someone to pick him up at 3) and a 4 year old (not in school). Luckily, my husband and I have opposite work schedules, so one of us is always at home… but I've also been able to cater my school schedule to our work schedules thus far (I was desperately hoping for the hybrid option, but I didn't get it.). If you can't find child care, the school offers child care for students at a fairly reasonable rate (and it's part of their childhood development program, so you know the kids will be well taken care of!).

I believe if you got into the hybrid program in you acceptance letter it will say

Just opened mine!!!! I got accepted!!!! I believe into the Hybrid program, in the letter it says...

The Hybrid section is filled on a first come first serve basis. (Then in bold it says) You have been selected to enroll in this section per your request.

I never heard anything from AACC after I turned in that paper that said Yes I wanted to be in the program. Did anyone else?

No I never heard anything either, so I hope they got it!

Do any of you know whether we have to or should get a flu shot? I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to do my health examination record, and if I have to get it I might as well get it while I'm there.
