AACC Spring 2012 hopefuls?

Hello fellow MD nurses!

I'm just looking to see if there are any prospective Spring 2012 students at AACC? I'm finishing up A&P2 this summer and will be putting my application in in the fall. Anyone take the TEAS yet? Any advice? I'll probably take mine in August when I'm done with classes so I can focus on studying for that as opposed to my other classes.

Are there any out of county residents that have been accepted for the AACC Spring 2012 RN or LPN program, because I applied for the LPN program and I am out of county. What do you guys think my chances are of getting in as an out of county resident......

Do any of you know of good scholarship sites? I'm trying to find as much as I can for next year, especially considering the nursing course sequence doesn't appear to be a full time load (12 hrs) and so I don't get the full amount of financial aid that I'm eligible for. I obviously want to avoid taking any more loans if at all possible, so any scholarship info you might have heard of would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure about scholarships, but I would recommend taking an online course to bump you over to 12 credits. I know the thought of taking on more classes even with a hefty nursing class load might be kinda nuts- but there are a few online classes that I've taken that are SUPER easy… I don't want to put the professors on blast here by saying their classes are easy, so if you would like my suggestions on what to take, send me a message...

Yeh, you need 15 posts in order to be able to send messages. I'll send you one, but you won't be able to respond until you hit 15 posts (which I think is weird...but, whatever...)

if you apply for financial aid you automatically get enrolled tog et a chance at some scholarships especially if you apply early. if you go un financial aid take it says apply for insitutional scholarships fill out that forma nd submit every semester. there are also senator scholarships you can apply for you jsut ened to get a letter of recomendation, i usually get a full scholarship every semester by applying for those three. I dont usually get much in grants but your grades are good you'll be bound to get one of the others. theres also a take under student resources of scholarships you can apply for. Good luck!

I'm taking that class online right now for UMSON- Eng 207. It's fairly easy and common sense.

I actually ended up buying the Littmann Classic II SE stethoscope from medisave.net because they have free shipping and free laser engraving of your name onto the stethoscope for 74.99 I got it in Raspberry and like the idea of having my name engraved on it because if someone tries to steal it I'll have a way to prove it's mine.

I decided to go ahead and get this one instead of one of the cheaper ones right now because I didn't want to spend money on a stethoscope now and then spend money again later on a nicer one. I just decided to get the nice one now and hope it lasts me a long time!

What did you have engraved? I was joking with a coworker that I really wanted the skull and cross bones, and he said that it probably wouldn't be appropriate for a healthcare worker. I said that's why I want it!
