A mini poll:

Do you go to school full or part time?

Do you work full or part time?

I was wondering because I work full time (36) and go to school part time. Once I get into the nursing program, I'm going to stop working and take out a loan so I can go to school full time. Just wondering what your doing...:p

I go full time.

I don't work.

My partner and i decided that school IS my job right now...

Luckily, her income supports that decision!

Currently while taking my prereqs I am working full-time and going to school part-time. Once I get accepted into a program, I plan on going to school fulltime. I have some money saved up that I'll have to tap into, but I don't think it's going to last providing for school and my family so I'm probably going to have to work at some point.

Specializes in Telemetry, Stepdown.

My nursing classes are 8 credit hrs and I'll be working on sat and sundays.

Full time employee and part time student. Funning you posted this because I just mentioned to my husband just today about working part time. He gave me the ok, believe it or not! I'm finishing my prereqs and praying that I get accepted into the Nursing program this coming up Spring. No major money saved but I think he's willing to take the load.

Specializes in 5 yrs OR, ASU Pre-Op 2 yr. ER.

Work 40 hrs a week, school will be 34 hours a week.

I feel tired just thinking about it.

I am a full time student in last semester of pre-clinical and working part time at LTC facility. Actually Im working full time until the day school starts. Then I will cut back my hours to 3 weekend shifts, for 32 hours. Sounds like a lot but I am one of those people that loves to be busy.

I work full time (39hrs/week) and go to school full time (11 credit hrs this semester).

I am fortunate that I work in veterinary ICU on the overnight. Most nights it is quiet. I'm there mostly to do monitoring, hourly treatments and some of the scut work (x-ray processor maint, anesthesia machine maint, etc.) I am able to get in a lot of study time in a typical shift.

Hehehe, you sound like me only I squeeze in 39hrs Friday evening to Monday morning. Weekends is pretty much work or sleep and nothing else. Ah well, we do what we must to get through school, eh?

Specializes in LTC & Private Duty Pediatrics.

Keely-FutureRN:

- I work full time as a software engineer.

- I teach class two nights a week. Am proctoring exams this evening - so lots of free time to surf web tonight.

- I am taking 1 class a semester. Took A&P 101 last semester, and am taking A&P 102 next semester.

- Next year, I will drop the teaching job (probably) and travel from Indiana to New York every other weekend for my clinicals.

- Not sure who will be stressed out more. Me or my two persian kitties.

My school is just 9 credit hours this semester, but it is 5 days a week, so it's full time to me. The hours are different every day and every week, so a "regular" job would be hard to keep. I'm not working this semester, but hope to next semester if the class schedule gets more normal.

Specializes in School, Camp, Hospice, Critical Care.

I teeter between full time and part time depending on the semester. (Still have a couple of co-reqs, so I'll be full time those two semesters, but part time the two semesters after those.)

I work part-time and am also a full time mom to three--work and school are arranged around their school schedules.
