A hit on a single state license plan to let it expire.

I have a hit on my single state license. I moved to another state and was able to get a compact license. I plan to let the single state license expire and use the compact state license. My question will the disciplinary action on my single state license  still show on NURSY after I let it expire?

Did you inform the new state of the action on your license in the old state? That's a general requirement and if not done could make whether or not the disciplinary action will show on Nursys a moot point. But yes, even if the license is expired the action will show.

The new state aware. I had to send an explanation letter and 3 references.  Thank you for your comment

Yes.  Once a BON imposes disciplinary action,  it is usually permanently on file and viewable on online BON license verification search. Only way single state license won't appear is when that states BON doesn't participate in NURSY.

I could be very wrong as I have never had a compact liscense but I believe the Compact liscense's validity is contingent on the original liscense validity. But Nursys does record any action on your license even if expired.

sorry for taking so long to see this. yes your old single state license and disciplinary action will always be listed on NURSYS even after that specific single state license expires or lapses. nursys RARELY removes any. which is ridiculous considering how personal those actions can be that the BON takes.
