Honestly I hate it and it's dysfunction. It's all consuming and completely draining! I'm burnt out. I hate doing tech work during clinicals, spending 6 hours writing each care plan only to be told its just ok, which in my program means not acceptable. I'm sure a lot of what I'm feeling has to do with the school/ program I chose. I do love the subject, the physiology, helping people, caring for patients and I do love that my brain is turned on and I feel smarter and quicker in everything I do not just school... But man am I ready for this program to be over with!
I haven't started yet, but I just got my books and for once I find myself actually wanting to use and READ(yes read) the text books. Since I was in high school I never really read my text books or studied much. I'm so excited about nursing and I know how important it is to get a good GPA in nursing courses that I'm encouraged and afraid to not start out running. I can't wait until classes start!
I seriously miss nursing school. A lot. I graduated last May, and I see a lot of my classmates who repeated posting about how they can't wait until they get in the real world... I guess there are a lot of good real world experiences, but my first hospital job was subpar and made me consider quitting nursing. I hope that no one goes through such a bad experience, but enjoy nursing school while you are in it, and learn all you can when you have that instructor putting you under her license. Being the licensed staff in charge can be stressful.
My favorite part of nursing school was college. I love college. ((((Sings Asher Roth))))
