To those of you who have taken A&PII:
What do you wish you could've had more time to learn, and what were the hardest to grasp concepts? I'm trying to get a little bit of a head start but don't want to spend time on something that isn't as important. Thank you!

Hi there,
All of A&P 2 was intense. Not trying to scare you. If you did well with A&P1 you will do well in A&P 2.
The chapters I studied the most for would have to be:
Endocrine system and the the lymphatic system.
There is a lot to learn with the hormones, etc.
With the endocrine system - if you can memorize where the hormone starts out them you'll be able to figure out where they go.
hypothalamus? - anterior or posterior pituitary - then to what organ...etc.
The lymphatic system - if you can understand the anatomy then concentrate on the physiology.
My favorite chapter for this class was the cardiovascular. A lot of info to learn but pretty straight forward.
Good luck to you!

endocrine system, without a doubt. i had the same a&p teacher throughout the whole year and she warned us in a&p1, that the endocrine system was the toughtes in a&p2.

Keep in mind that the way the topics are divvied up between the two courses may vary. e.g. In my school cardiovascular is in part I.

Endocrine and Cardio were my favorite topics...I had a little problem with the Digestive System (lowered my grade drastically).

We did endocrine in A&P I. It was really tough. Make sure to know your pituitary hormones and where they go. From there it is a bit easier, but those are the best starting place.
Not sure what to exepect for A&P II. It should be a whole new challenge. I have a new prof from last semester so I will have to learn how to learn A&P all over again.

I thought that the endocrine system is difficult and i also thought the reproductive system was tough.
I always got the hormes mixed up. I got a high A on that exam but I still hate it lol:zzzzz:banghead:

I think it depends on your teacher - endocrine I think is really simple if you just draw out the diagrams (though, I'm from biochem, I'm a pathway person) and get ready to hear "negative feedback loop" over and over. For me, cardio killed me, much as I :redbeathe it, though that was mostly because the professor liked to ask really crazy questions that were difficult to prepare for. Respiration wasn't bad once I got over the scary physics, and digestion is lots of fun! Basically, physio is awesome, but it's also lots of memorizing - what always helps me is finding the logic behind the systems, the body's pretty clever and it often really does make a lot of sense.
Good luck! I vote cardio for extra study (and bonus because it's cool. Jugular vein distension? Love it)

Oh my gosh!! The kidneys were killer!!! I thought they just filtered urine, but it is crazy ridiculous the paths and pathways they take! You will definitely be spending alot of time studying those!!!
