A&P 1 Spring 08

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi y'all! Anybody taking A&P 1 this coming spring semester? I'm trying to get as many pre-req's out of the way as possible and could use a study buddy or 2! Thanks! :)

I guess this has turned into the A&P Summer 2008 thread...lol.

Anyways, I'm taking Intro to A&P, in a summer semester, so it's four weeks long. My question is...

Does anyone know of a site where I can find information on all four tissue types, where they are located, and what their specific function is in that location? I.E.- the questions on this lab are something like, What type of tissue is located in the ureter and what is its function?

I've looked at most of the sites on histology that everyone has posted, but it's nothing that I need. I'm looking for a table or something.

Well here is a website that has everything you need for A&P1 & 2. The website is created by an retired A&P prof.

I hope this helps

I don't know if you've seen this website http://www.siumed.edu/~dking2/index.htm

but i think it's really good. It's not a table, but it's organized really well.

This is wonderful....I start A & P in the fall of 08. I will also be aking Chemistry....Thanks so much for all the useful information.

Hello...does anyone know an easy or descent way how to remember the heart's internal and external parts??

thanks

THANKS EVERYONE!

Excellent sites. Btw, I came up with a mnemonic to remember the layers of the epidermis from superficial to deep:

Carl Likes Girls at Sports Bars.

That's Stratum Corneum, Stratum Lucidum, Stratum Granulosum, Stratum Spinosum, and Stratum Basale.

Hey, it's silly and I have no idea where it came from, but it helps me remember. Others in my class use "Before Signing, Get Legal Counsel" (from deep to superficial) but it's eaiser for me to remember from superficial to deep.

Well, as far as not getting the atria and ventricles confused, I just remember that "a" comes before "v" so the atria are superior to the ventricles. And for the valves just remember the phrase "try to be right"...the TRIcuspid valve is on the RIGHT side of the heart and the bicuspid is on the left. Good luck!

Wow! I never thought of it that way...thanks so much!!

Thank you so much! That is really helpful.. I just seem to be having trouble. I will keep this in mind!!

You're welcome, good luck!

Hi everyone...

i took my first quiz...feel sooo sad, i got a 70. and i studied!!! i had the first Test this past Thursday, and again studied hard, but i don't know the score yet...my professor is just not a easy person to understand..i think i mentioned how he speeds thru material, and then has to tell a million and one stories about his wife and children while giving lecture...oh and he doesn't like anyone to ask questions!!! if you get in one question, you've filled your quota!!! a website stated here how to be a good student..ask questions, but what do you do, when professor discourages it? ...i really wish i would have taken chemistry first, before this AP 1...i really think i can pull a C, but thats not good enough... any suggestions?

thanks:cry:

oh wanted to share some good news too...i'm pulling an A in nutrition so far!! so at least i'm doing something..
