A&P/Microbiology.. Help!!!!!

Hello everyone!! So I took Anatomy and Physiology last semester and I ended up withdrawing from the class because I was having a hard time learning the material because the professor was reading off the slides. So I'm planning on retaking it next semester Spring 2019 with a new professor of course, and if anyone has any good tips on how to pass with an A please let me know! (Nursing program at my university is soooooo competitive) I'll also be taking Microbiology and 3 other classes.

Seriously?? I heard micro was easier then A&P ugh yikes!Lol I might take it in the summer though and take an elective instead of micro

There is no planet in the galaxy where micro should be easier than A/P. A/P is just a **** ton of rote memorization. It's all about putting in time with flash cards. Micro is chem and biochem and a lab that literally makes some people cry.

A&P and Micro is simply memorization. All you have to do is memorize stuff. If you are still struggling to pass exams when all you have to do is memorize stuff with no critical thinking involved then you need to figure out a different way to study for yourself. Some are visual learners, others are auditory, but you need to figure out what works for you because a class like this doesn't involve a whole lot of critical thinking type questions and really is much easier than classes where you're having more abstract type questions.

I found the A&P coloring book to be very helpful. It's more than a coloring book...it's also a workbook. The combo of coloring and workbook REALLY helps!! Have you considered taking any of these classes on line? I did A&P1 and Micro on line. If you can do that, I would choose Micro to take online. I really would've preferred to take it live because it's super interesting but that was not going to fit in with my life. I posted on this site and several people responded with Micro from Clovis Community College in NM. I was able to take it in the summer and it worked out great. You had to do some simple petri dish experiments and take photos and document, etc. The labs were online, which honestly were not that enjoyable but I did what I had to do to finish my ADN in two years and I will be finished in 11 weeks! It was a 200 level micro course, whereas, my school only required a 100 level intro to micro course. If this is something you'd be interested in, get a description of the course from Clovis and email whoever you need to in your school to make sure it will transfer. If you are interested, I can tell you more. Good luck!

Flash cards, quizlet, you tube, and bring a voice recorder to class if your professor allows it. Also just study a little bit every day. Do a couple pages of notes for an hour or two per day, instead of leaving it off to 20+ pages of notes a few days before a exam.

Thanks to everyone who replied to me! You guys helped me a lot I've already gotten my Index cards and A&P coloring book ready for next semester!! Wish me luck! :)))

I second watching Hank Green's Crash Course Anatomy videos on YouTube. Our professor even recommended them. If you are a visual learner, they are super helpful.

Loved Crash Course! I watched every A&P episode multiple times. I watched with my kids, too! I also hleatched the topics I was weakest in right before the HESI A2.

I feel like I need to ask my question here and chime in. Ap 1 I highly recommend fundamentals of anatomy and physiology by martini and getting access code it's really great.

for my question, I recently took the endocrine lecture test and now I'm second guessing how I did because even though my professor can't grade yet because scantron machine is down one of the questions that stumped me like literally it was all the choices given but two struck out to me to decide between and long story short she told me yes my answer is right but not the answer she wanted so now I'm making myself sick, endocrine was a tough subject for me and I dropped ap2 over the summer because the professor I had was telling me I was failing the tests but yet he wouldn't show me my actual tests, so I dropped before it could afffect my gpa. My next exam is on blood vessels and heart and any help/review questions guides or whatever would be awesome because legit making myself sick right now I want nursing more than anything else and while I can honestly say endocrine was tough on me and maybe I did actually fail in the summer because it did confuse me but I can honestly say I knew this material ten times better now and I think it was partially because of my professor.

Plus I got a A in ap1 so I find it hard to believe that nursing isn't for me with that grade (We don't do A+ at our school so highest grade possible to achieve)
