A&P II in a 6 week summer session?

Published

Hello! I'm a pre-nursing student who is currently taking A&P I in the 12 week spring session (I am doing well so far with an A in the class so far after my midterm), I am thinking about taking A&P II in the 6 week short summer session just so that I can apply for candidacy into the LPN program in my school which only accepts candidates during the Fall semester only. So this decision is pretty urgent for me. I really do not want to waste anymore time, I also have the other option to take this A&P II class in the summer at this school (since I bought it's books already) so that I can transfer to a 4 year BSN college for this upcoming Fall semester (which I am already accepted to). I have all my other prerequisites over with except for the A&P courses. So my main question is, is A&P II doable or recommended in the 6 week summer session? And any advice on my plans of action would be greatly appreciated!!!

If you like science and if youre fascinated with how human body works it should be fine.I took biology over the summer and I liked it .

Specializes in Emergency Room, CEN, TCRN.

I took an A&P over the summer. If you think you're on top of your game and can handle it, stay on top of your game and it won't be too hard to keep your A.

Are you working? Do you have any other personal commitments? Are you financially independent, or is someone helping you with living expenses? These factors are important.

Thank you! Did you have any particular topics that you felt like needed a lot of attention?

Thank you so much, I was just wondering from other people if it was doable. I've heard that it's more focused on the physiology compared to A&P 1 which had tons of memorization.

Of course its doable, but its tough. I took A&P1 in the summer and I regretted it but earned a B thank God and said never again. Then I took A&P2 in the fall and got an A. If you don't have to work as much or any other major responsibilities go for it, it goes by fast.

I am not working, since I tried to take classes like A&P 1 and a health class together while I was working but couldn't do it since I also had some weekend commitments too. I only have volunteering once a week and a weekend commitment. I am not financially independent and my family is still helping me. I totally agree on that, last time I tried to juggle a late shift and an accelerated 4 credit science course I was really overwhelmed!

I think it's doable. It's not as tough as A&P I

Lol I tried to do A&P 1 over last winter in the short session and I ended up dropping because I was working. I'm taking it now in the long spring session and Im on the road to an A, my school seems to advise people to take the A&P 2 course during the summer session. Since I'm not working I'm taking advantage of the opportunity. Do you have any tips or certain topics that need emphasis or attention? Thank you by the way.

I don't remember im sorry I took it about two years ago my professor was great and gave us what was going to be on the lecture exams, and I just studied from there. Lab was really easy for me pretty straight forward. Good luck
