Published

Hey everyone!!

Welcome, Welcome and a big "Congrats" to each and everyone of you!! :balloons:

Let's look at it this way. We're halfway there!! Better yet, I keep hearing that Part II is much easier than Part I [let's not talk about lab just yet though! :o ].

When does everyone start? Class starts for us on the 25th.

Enjoy your break and let's get this bad boy started! :D

Specializes in PeriOp, ICU, PICU, NICU.

Congrats to all who have finished part one already and will be moving on to part 2. To those of use who have a few more weeks to go, lets hang in there because we can do it too :D . Will be meeting you all here in about 2 weeks!

Specializes in Burn/Trauma PCU.

Mine starts on the 30th... the good news is that they use the exact same textbook and lab book for I and II, so at least I don't have to go buy more books!

Good luck to everyone... :p

Specializes in ante/postpartum, baby RN.

I am starting on August 29th with the same professor and books. I love his classes. :)

Are you taking other classes, too?

I signed up for A&P 2, Dev. Psychology, English 2 (online) and still thinking about Sociology (online).

Hi Annabelle57,

Which campus are you going to? My class also starts on the 30th on the east campus. I can't wait for it to be over.

Good luck!!

East campus - are you at VCC too? I'm taking the Tues/Fri class with Pete Smith... it was the only one I could take! I'm kinda bummed I have class on Friday evenings.

You?:)

Yep, I sure am. Looks like we will be in the same class. I was very surprised at the limited amount of classes this semester. But o'well gotta do what you gotta do. This is my last pre-req, THANK GOD!!!! I heard he is hard. Have you heard anything about him? Who did you have for A&P 1?

Kelly Randolph - she's a vet, and she brought in all sorts of stuff for A & P I. A lot of the students didn't like her... but I really did well with her style of teaching. Big-time potty mouth, but that didn't phase me. I liked that she was so direct, and she made us copy all of our notes off of the board, which actually helped me to learn - I always remember the stuff I write.

Pete Smith has been at Valencia for a long time - he was actually supposed to retire this past spring. Dr. Randolph said he was great, and there are a lot of positive reviews for him on RateMyProfessors.com, so I'm hoping for good. I guess there will always be students who don't care for a particular teaching style...

I was hoping for a MW class - I have a Thursday night conflict that kept me from taking some of the TR classes. Oh well!

See you in class! That'll be cool.

I thought that he was the one that was supposed to retire. I had a few classmates in my ethics class that loved him. They were mad when he said he was retiring. Wow this might be a good class then. I had Dr. Moe for my AP1 class. He is a chiro, so basically taught the medical portion of the book. "Structure and Function" was his favorite two words. I read the ratemyprofessor page, alot of them said he was hard. I guess I will need that for the nursing program.

Do you know of any schools around here that teaches phlebotomy? I really want to get that done before the program starts. I don't want to have to concentrate on that part so much and miss out on other things going on. Well see you in class.

He was supposed to retire... I don't know why he hasn't, but it sounds like he'll be a good professor for us.:)

One of my coworkers took a medical assistant course at Orlando Tech, and I know that you get trained in phlebotomy because she always tells me that was the part she hated the most! :chuckle Anyway, I know there's a program there, and SCC has several different training programs: RN, LPN, Nurse Assistant, etc. I don't know what the schedule would be like and how it would work with your courseload at VCC, but you might check it out. Vo-tech schools are probably your best bet.

Oooh... we almost got sent to the back pages!

Well, I'm excited about A & P II. I took A&PI in the spring and took the summer off because I was getting married in July... and I'm hoping that all the stuff I learned in the spring didn't get shoved out of my head by all that bridal stuff!

Anybody else ready to get through this class and on to nursing classes? I'm so impatient these days...

Happy Monday, all!
