A&M Round Rock 2nd degree 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi, my name is Stephanie and I want to start a thread for everyone applying to A&M Round Rock for Spring of 2015!

She told me email is the best way to reach her so that's what I would do. I wonder why you didn't get a supplemental app?? Don't they need to know which campus you prefer and stuff? What if that has changed since last year?

That's really weird. I submitted my Supplemental Application in a few weeks ago, and for the background check component of the Supplemental I just had to check off a box and then electronically submit it.

The page states as following: "Once your supplemental application file has been processed by the HSC-College of Nursing, you will receive a notice through the BAMF admissions portal on how to initiate the fingerprinting process for the required background check."

As of right now, when I go to the BAMF homepage and look at that Outstanding Assignments box it states ''No data found''. I presumed all this meant was that I hadn't yet received my notice to do the fingerprinting portion yet.

Bear in mind, though, that before I even had received a Supplemental Application to begin with, I'd spoken to an admissions adviser over the phone and she'd told me that they do the applications in waves. So in a sense, I'm not terribly concerned that I'm not at the 'blue card' stage yet.

Oh, I can't believe I hadn't asked this! But I have two questions for you folks:

1) Have you met anyone else, in your own personal lives, that had applied for this specific program?

and,

2) Did any of you list Bryan/College Station as your second choice?

For me, I actually met a fellow applicant, who was a CA on a different unit! But I saw her again at the hospital last week, and asked her briefly how her application process for A&M Round Rock was going, and she told me that she got into the Texas Tech's Online BSN program for Dallas, and was moving to Dallas to do the clinicals. Interesting stuff.

And honestly, I could pick 'Round Rock only' on this application. I contemplated listing Bryan/College Station as my second choice, but since the programs start in January, I just couldn't relocate to that area so soon. My lease in Austin ends in May, and the job which I intend to keep is in Austin, too, so it would be too much, too fast for me to make the move to Bryan/College Station if that were the only spot available for me.

so you haven't been given instructions for fingerprinting yet?

I know one person who is currently in the program (round rock).

I applied to Round Rock as well

Nope, not yet!

I had 2 classmates last year that applied for January 2014. Neither made it into A&M but one made it into Tech's online program and one into Concordia's. I selected only Round Rock. I don't have the option to move and with 2 little ones I can't commute. Plus, I live super-close to the Round Rock campus and it would just be the perfect situation.

Stephtap87 do you mind sharing their stats because it seems like no many people in these forums have been accepted. You were accepted to UHV, right?

I wonder what their stats were...that's great they made it into other programs though.

Yeah, I have a two year old and definitely won't be able to commute. ughhh

hey girl! I haven't been accepted anywhere yet, this is the first program I'm applying for!

I got a 93 on Hesi

3.82 nursing sciences GPA

certified phlebotomist, I currently work from desk at a dr office where I am a back up medical assistant (I give injections and take vitals, verify insurance, etc), CPR certified, and have a ton of volunteer experience. but WHO knows! this is just so damn competitive that its really hard to tell.

Where have you applied?

Thanks Stephtap87! I finally figured it out, I think I was just so overwhelmed that I hadn't seen the background check message that my brain wouldn't work! I was afraid I was going to pay for the wrong one or something but I figured it out.

This is my first time to apply to this program and I also applied to the Baylor fast bacc program. I graduated from A&M in may of 2013 then worked in medical device research/sales for a little under a year after that. I put round rock as my first location but college station is also an option for me. I'm from Lakeway (west austin) though so I would have a place to live if I get into the round rock location! This is so nerve racking, it is driving me crazy! I feel like I haven't heard of anyone who has gotten in!

Stephtap87,

I applied at UTHSC Houston, Texas A&M University (both campuses), and University of Houston. I was accepted to U of H but I am awaiting the other two universities before making a decision. I prefer A&M though.

Brenda,

that's awesome!! Hopefully we get in!! I forgot, but what are your stats? I'm really limited to this area because of my little boy, so I really need to get A&M. Texas State is my back up plan...
