Bellevue College hopefuls 2014-2015

U.S.A. Washington

Hey everyone, I didn't see a thread for this yet so I thought I would start one.

Is anyone else applying to BC for Fall 2014/Winter 2015 cohorts? I'm getting nervous with the deadline less than two months away. I did all my pre reqs there and it's my first choice school which probably adds to the nerves a bit. Are any of you finished with the application process yet? I think it's nice that this year, the background check is after the initial application just for the sake of saving money if I didn't score high enough on my TEAS to get in.

Wow, it sounds like BC has pretty good prospects as far as clinical sites go! I am aiming to go into pediatrics, so it's basically my (far-fetched) dream to go to Seattle Children's during clinicals. You know so much about this, Jaycam! It's really awesome. Do you know someone who has been in this program before?

I have gone to BC for the last six quarters, and did my NAC training there. I've also been to several of the info sessions, talked to advisors, and work on campus. It's also my first choice school do I try to make sure I know as much as I can.

I'm applying! I have everything ready to turn in on Wednesday, when I take the e-write. I took the TEAS on Thursday and scored a 92.7. I hope that will meet the requirements! I'm breathing a sigh of relief as I speak of that test in the past tense! I will finish my associates in pre-nursing this quarter at Pierce. Is anyone else south of Bellevue? I'm about an hour away (during low-traffic times) from Bellevue, which concerns me a bit; however, there aren't a lot of programs down here and I like what I have seen of Bellevue's program so far.

Justdance thats a really great score! I'm a little nervous my score is lower than every else's here.. but I will hope for the best. I live on UW campus so the bus ride is about 45-1 hour depending on traffic. So your not alone haha.

@justdance14 a 92 is awesome. The last few years that would totally get you into fall quarter. Have you taken the eErite as well?

@hopefulBE if you look at last year's hopefuls forum there are several posts about who got accepted and their TEAS scores. One of them go in after being wait listed with an 80. Remember, each year, the scores that get in depend on the group of applicants. Remember that they also have to pass the eWrite. It seems easy, but it isn't, and has disqualified people with decent or high TEAS scores.

Hey everyone,

I just submitted my packet today. I took the TEAS test on Friday and only got a 79.3% so I'm not feeling very confident about getting in. That was my 2nd test. The first I only got a 70%. On the e-write I got 11/12. It's tough with kiddos to get the study time in. :(

Dang yeah, 79.3 is pretty sketch for BC. Who knows, you might get in off waitlist but if I were you I'd be sure to have a backup plan to apply to other schools that weigh other application pieces differently, especially if you have a strong GPA or medical experience. Either way good luck!

@Gottmilk I for sure have multiple back up plans. I'm planning to apply to Shoreline in April. I have Military medical experience so that should help me. I'm also planning to apply at Everett. I'm just really hoping to get lucky and get into Bellevue. It's my top pick. It's taken me so long to get to this point. Lot's of hard work and determination....Needless to say I am pretty bummed with my score. I see that someone during the last application period got in with an 80. I'll be crossing my fingers for a while. Anyone else brave enough to share their not so great scores??? ;)

I got an 85.3 and a 83.3 on mine.

@jaycam That is a solid score. I'm sure 85.3 will get you in.

Probably winter quarter. I don't want to wait, but I suppose I shall live. All the smarty pants around here are making me feel inadequate. :) guess I just have to work harder. I'm also applying to shoreline, Seattle central, and lake Washington to make sure I get in a program, but BC is my number 1.

kkay29, I got an 89.3. I took my retake today and actually got a few percentage points lower!! I really really really am hoping I get into BC's program because I do not have the best GPA. I think they are the only school in the area that takes applicants based on TEAS scores.
