thinking about applying for a job in their ICU. anyone work there presently or in the past and have any thoughts/comments about the unit?

"Those GW ICU nurses know their stuff, it is an amazing team environment. I only left because I got married and had a baby!'' Found this on another thread : https://allnurses.com/washington-dc-nursing/george-washington-univ-538267.html

Also, I know someone who just started working there and they absolutely love it.

Just thought I'd post since no one else came long yet. Figured it was better than nothing. :)

Hopefully someone else comes along with more information for you!

i interviewed for their ICU and PACU when i first moved to DC. i received offers from both, but decided to go with georgetown. mostly because the position/pay at georgetown was a lot better (ICU/PACU versus case management), but i got an uncomfortable vibe at GW. nurses seemed harried, agitated, and the HR process was a pain in the ass comparatively speaking. then i learned that GW is a for-profit hospital, which explained the vibe (IMO).

I can't fully comment on what it's like to actually work there, that was my interview experience.

GirlvsNSG, I need to learn from you! Congrats, you seem to of been hired everywhere you applied. I am taking my nclex this week, I am a male, and I speak spanish fluently, and I have been a FF/EMT for the last 4 years. I really do not want to be looking for a job for an entire year, so if you could please walk me through your obviously veryyy effective ways of procuring employment, I would be greatly indebted to you! Thank you!
