U.S.A. Texas

hello all,

guess i'll get our thread started. i've watched these over the last few semesters, and it's a great way to share information and get to know each other.

i applied earlier this month, and got an e-mail this evening letting me know that i am eligible regarding my prerequisites. i was surprised to get something back so quickly since the deadline is july 1. anyway, that's the first step in the process...a long, long process. :) hopefully, there will be plenty of us on here to keep each other company.

look forward to getting through this process with you.

Project Quest is out of money for Bexar County.

If you selected to have clinicals on Tuesday, then on wednesday you will have clinical labs in a pre-determined time.

Example: Wednesday, I go in at 4 pm-6pm (the latest class) and some have it earlier.

And vice versa for Wednesday clinicals, on tuesday you will have clinical labs.

On friday, your clinical group will have a pre-determined time.

Ex: Friday, I have health assessment class 9-12pm. Some people have it earlier and some later.

Either way, you do not decided what time slots you want it will be assigned for you. :)

when will we find out those times? orientation?.. i've read that some say that it doesn't give a time when registering.. just wondering..

i thought we could pick our times.. boo!.. the only reason why i'm bitter about that situation is cuz i'm setting up childcare for my girls and budgeting, plus i'm commuting.. o well.. no pitty party needed here just a minor crack in my road to success ;)

Yes, they will let you know during orientation and during the first weeks of school. Nothing to worry about.

P.S. I also have children and it's not that big of a bump in the road. :)

thank you for the kind words and heads up!... at least we're heading into the semester knowing what to expect than not knowing anything at all.. :)

quick question: are you still getting shuttled to campus or have you gotten a parking spot yet?.. the thought of having to leave my 6month old at childcare earlier than expected is :crying2:, because of the shuttle, is just mind trenching.. not to mention being 25 minutes out and fighting the 1604 traffic.. i can deal with the whole traffic deal, but i just feel like the shuttle just put the cherry on top of all my stress leaving the baby sooner:confused:.. i know i sound like a baby but i'm just really nervous, stressed, sad.. just a whole bundle of the ugly stuff..lol.. i guess i just gotta get through the first few weeks to get used to my schedule.. but gettin there is the key:rolleyes:..

You can go online and put yourself on the waiting list for a parking spot. Considering the fact that there is a group of students who are finishing their last semester, several spots should be available by the time the semester starts. But, considering that several students may want a spot, the sooner you put yourself on the waiting list, the sooner you will be in a position to not have to worry about the shuttle.

We all, I am sure, have scheduling conflicts and needs. Be glad you can afford to pay for child care, many can't.

Yea! Thanks to school loans ;).. the only way it can be done with me... and as for the parking that is a done deal and I put my self on the list a couple of weeks ago.. other than that, everything will work out.. i have faith :).. I'm just superly nervous..

Well, if someone can tell me how I can pay for my mortgage, food, utilities, etc while I am attending classes instead of working, I would certainly appreciate it. I am the only wage earner in my house and I am sure my loans will not cover my expenses.

Holy smokes! Book list is out!...sitting at $1480 with some prices still missing!!

Really? Where do you find the book list online along with their prices? Thanks!

They emailed us the list.. our UTHSC email... and I went to the book store and saw prices.. I'm already looking for other avenues to get my books and in the email it said we have to have them on the 1st day of class..

if you go back and look over other UTHSCSA threads, some then-current students give a little insight into which books you actually need.
