This is what I do some days before tests or check offs: I close my eyes and imagine myself doing everything the right way; answering every question on the test and doing every step of the check off procedure. After finishing the exam I see myself smiling and being happy for making a good grade. (Then I go home and have an ice cream and a nice bubble bath. :lol2: )

Right before taking the test I try not to think about the others in the room, I focus on the test and the time limit only.

Thank you for the advice, Katie. I really need to practice these kinds of techniques...I have never really tried them before.

McCarty allowed me to sit in on his classes to THR students but I'm not exactly sure if they're always at the same times and what they will cover.

Why do you want to sit in on his classes? Do you go to one of the hospitals to watch him on TV?

Our lecture was canceled this last Thursday so we're going to miss respiratory and cardiovascular function lecture. One time he told me that I was more than welcome to sit in on his lectures which are at a place in Arlington. I don't think I am allowed to go to the hospitals because I am not a THR student...at least that's the way it came across to me.

When are you lecture classes Katie? Mine are on Thursday...have you guys had the one over cardio and respiratory functions?

Brianna,

I was wondering when your lecture was and what it will cover. McCarty allowed me to sit in on his classes to THR students but I'm not exactly sure if they're always at the same times and what they will cover. If you could give me any information, I would greatly appreciate it :)

Our lecture this tuesday will cover Respiratory function and we will probably start Pain; Sleep/Rest. We covered Cardiovascular function last week. It starts at 4pm at THR's corporate office off of I-30 and Lamar. If you wear your El Centro ID, I believe you can go to any of the THR hospitals (Presby, Harris). Let me know if you need to know anything else!

Hi Kristin,

I see you are 2nd semester at North Lake. I have some questions, if you don't mind. Please send me a PM.

Thank you,

Thank you so much Brianna! Do you know where I could find information on the locations in the hospitals? What room is the lecture is aired in? Is there a website with this information? I really appreciate your help

Locations and directions to the hospitals or corporate can be found at http://www.texashealth.org. As for the rooms, I don't know because I only go to corporate. I'm sure that someone at the hospital will know what classroom it's held in. If not, Mr. McCarty can get ahold of someone who knows! I feel more comfortable at corporate b/c you can ask questions, and it's harder to get them answered if you're not in the live classroom.

My tip: ask the nursing administration office of the hospital. When I needed info about our orientation location they could help me. They even showed me a list about ongoing nursing events of the hospital. It seems to me that they know everything. ;)

Guys, I have found a new pharm. review document with more than 100 test questions on eCampus. Go to eCampus, SNA and student resources to download it. It's for 3rd semester students, but it can be useful to us, too. Although, right now it seems scary... how am I going to know all of this by 3rd semester? :uhoh21:

Thank you for the link Katie. I don't think I can get into it because I'm not a NL student. I can't find the student resources page :(

I can send it in an email if you want.

I tried as well, so I guess it's because we're not members of the SNA?

I did click the join link, but I'm sure it won't get responded to until after Spring Break.

I hope everyone of you got a little bit of R&R this week. :) I'm actually between classes because I finished my Nutrition class early and my History 1302 ended, but Monday is the first day of my Government 2302 class. It's not going to be very fun at all, but I'm glad I'm getting it out of the way. :D
