Allison, how was your second test?

I didn't want to post until everyone had taken their test. I know Brianna hasn't yet ..... It really wasn't that difficult of a test, I just couldn't concentrate worth anything. My anxiety was through the roof for some weird reason... I was so tired and the test seemed to last forever. I walked out with a 74 which is failing. :o I was actually surprised that I scored that high considering I could barely breathe with all of my anxiety! I am definitely going to have to make it up big time and I know I will. I went from a 92 to a 74...they probably thought I wasn't even the same person who aced the first test :lol2:

I hope everyone did/does well!!!!!!! There were a lot of people in my school who did VERY good! I think the highest grade was a 98.

We went to orientation at the VA which was a lot of fun. Our instructor's mom has cancer and is having surgery so we don't get to start in the hospital until after spring break! That seems so far away!! Katie, have you had your orientation?

I think the second test was harder than the first one. I don't know my grade, yet. I am hoping for a passing grade.

The orientation was fun today. I was proud of myself that I didn't get lost this time. ;)

There are so many new things that we have to remember... we start pt care next week.

So it was a good day :) and scary one, too. :uhoh21:

Well, I took the second exam this morning.... and after praying 3 times this morning, I got a 94!!! I couldn't believe it!! I felt that this exam was a little bit easier b/c alot of the questions were just applying the information to the senarios. I actually took my time, and I know that it definitely helped my grade.

Allison: Don't worry because there are 3 more tests to go!!

Katie: I'm sure that you passed...

Hopefully I will see y'all at the wound care seminar on monday!!

That's awesome Brianna!!! :balloons: :balloons: You got that grade because you earned it!

Yes, I will see all of you at the wound care seminar. I don't think there will be cake and punch but I could be wrong...I just know I wasn't asked to serve any :(

I've found out today that I've made 90 on test 2. I am soooo happy. :D

Brianna, Congrats! :balloons:

Allison, I am sure you will make good grades on the remaining tests. Before tests, do you use relaxation techniques to help reduce your anxiety?

YAY! Katie, I am so proud of you!! :balloons:

It's hard to explain what happens to me before I take tests. The first test I was calm, cool, and collect. This last test I was FREAKING OUT for some weird reason. I think it's because I had gotten an A on the first test and then I was thinking, " It's impossible to make As in nursing school....I must fail something..." and that is exactly what happened. I now know that mindset is everything. I need to learn relaxation techniques if anyone has any!

This is what I do some days before tests or check offs: I close my eyes and imagine myself doing everything the right way; answering every question on the test and doing every step of the check off procedure. After finishing the exam I see myself smiling and being happy for making a good grade. (Then I go home and have an ice cream and a nice bubble bath. :lol2: )

Right before taking the test I try not to think about the others in the room, I focus on the test and the time limit only.

Brianna,

I was wondering when your lecture was and what it will cover. McCarty allowed me to sit in on his classes to THR students but I'm not exactly sure if they're always at the same times and what they will cover. If you could give me any information, I would greatly appreciate it :)
