U.S.A. Texas

Hi there everyone. I'm one of the 2015 hopefuls for lonestar. Just wondering if anyone has any information on application datelines for 2015 spring. The school sites don't happen to have that info(unless, I am missing something). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

@Gabicita, Thanks! Yep it's good to have your BLS if you can. One less thing to worry about. I have classes every Wed and Thursday in the evening (5p-730p i believe) and clinicals every tuesday from 630 am-4pm. I'm not sure how things work at Cyfair, wish I could tell you : )

@Gabicita, thanks! Yes I will be doing an online BSN program once I am done in December.I will be taking classes while working as a RN. No time off for me, only to study for my NCLEX......and about the CPR, I did apply with it but eventually you will have to get your BLS. That's what me and all the other student nurses have : )

What online BSN program are you doing?

I was looking into different ones. More into Chamberlain College of Nursing

Thanks ikegrad! your schedule kinda gives me that idea on how the class schedule looks like, hopefully cy-fair does the 2day schedule as well. Wow Chamberlain is nice!! I hear that they have a good curriculum, good luck getting in!;)

I looked into Chamberlin for nursing and they are crazy expensive, like 10 times what lonestar costs, but i found that lonestar has a transfer agreement with University of Houston and have a campus in The Woodlands however it don't matter because its only a 1 year online curriculum so you never go in and the whole year only costs $7,000 or so University of Houston-Victoria that seems to be the cheapest route since you can get all your bachelor basics done at lonestar then transfer to U of H for the one year nursing courses.

Ikegrad- when did you buy your scrubs and do you have to buy specific ones?

ohh boy.. my application is officially in with a score of 11.3868 cy-fair as ONLY choice, I just hope i'm not closing my doors down because of it :nailbiting:.... @Christian: I looked in to Chamberlain as well before i got into lonestar, and they r crazy expensive and for the RN program they r supper picky, they allow you to take the hesi only once a yr.. i took it like 3 times!hahaha... and I got curious about the scrubs as well and last time that at was at the bookstore on cy-fair i looked at the list they have there and it seems that is a specific color for each program, personally i would go find my own favorite brand "grey's anatomy" they r super soft, and just buy the patches from school and add them on. I love scrubs is like going to work in pj's every day!:woot:

Congratulations on making it to your last semester. I have a question, did you already have some of the classes outlined in the degree plan completed before starting the program? I am asking because I am applying to Kingwood and I noticed that I have already completed some of the classes. For example, when I look at the first semester credits, I've taken all of those classes except Nursing Skills. I'm trying to figure out what my schedule would look like.

Thanks.

Good Luck Gabicita, you have a better score than I, I will be applying to Kingwood once my grades post from Summer session 2 but i might list Cy-fair as a back up just to increase my odds, but thats an hour drive so i hope Kingwood will have me and my 11.25 score

derma2016, i think i recall seeing that schedule as well, and i think it was just suppose to show you how your schedule will look if you haven't completed your prerequisites

@gabicita, yes chamberlain is nice! And thanks, I applied to chamberlain around the same time I applied to Kingwood and was accepted to both, so hopefully I wouldn't have too much of a problem being accepted! : )))

@christian o, yep chamberlain is extremely expensive! I bought my scrubs close to the time school was starting and we have to wear navy blue scrubs.

@derma2016, THANKS. Yep I had all my classes I needed when I applied to the program. Any class with RNSG before it can only be taken once you are accepted into the program. Nursing skills was taken once I got into the program.

Ok ikegrad2002, but I don't think my question was clear. Let's say for example I am accepted and I've taken all of the non-nursing courses outlined in the degree plan (A&P, Micro, Speech, Humanities, PE, SOCI, etc...), that leaves me with only nursing skills for the first semester, am I able to take other nursing classes from other semesters like integrated nursing skills and other nursing classes or do I have to follow the plan verbatim.
