Southwest tn community college 2013 hopefuls

Hey Nikki, Just wante to let you I am still hanging in there and actually did take the professor that you recommended and I loved him. Thank you I plan on taking micro and anp 2 in the fall. I did want to get some clarity though, I will be done with my pre-req's needed for the program by december. So I can take any of the other nursing classes needed before being accepted into the program. Also how long does it take entrance test results to come back

Hi there! Glad to hear things are going well for you. I wanted to let you know that you will not be allowed to take any actual Nursing courses until you have been accepted into the program. Since you are taking A&PII and Micro this Fall, you will be eligible to apply for the Fall 2013 term. Just make sure you have everything required before the application deadline of February 1, 2013. As far as the NLN, the results came back in about 2-3 weeks (if I remember correctly).

Also, how are you doing in the program, I pray well you have been so helpful to me during my small journey. oh one more thing before I forget the program that starts in the fall is the day time program correct? I would prefer going in the day, than at night due to me having little ones at home.

I used Review Guide For RN Pre-Entrance Exam. The ISBN is 978-0763762711. I think I still have that book along with the CD-ROM. I wil have to check. If so, I will be more than happy to give it to you. Make sure to keep an eye out for the exam dates also. The NLN is not offered as frequent as it should be. I think there are a couple of testing dates in September but not sure of any other dates after that. And yes....the Fall program is day time.

Hey guys, I'm new around here and came searching for some info...this is definitely the right place :) I am applying in October for Spring admission into the program. I have completed Micro (got an A) and both A&Ps (got an A and a B), as well as Psych and Eng Comp 1. My overall GPA is a 3.7 and I'm taking the NLN next month. I'm REALLY hoping I have what it takes to get in this coming semester but I'm a little worried!

Here is my biggest concern. I was planning on taking out student loans so that I can quit my full time job and focus solely on Nursing school. I just found out today the SWTCC doesn't accept ANY form of student loans, federal or private. That pretty much means I will have to continue working full time. I gotta pay the bills :-/ Is it possible to work full time and maintain a good GPA?? I'm really worried. Or are y'all aware of any other types of financial aid or scholarships available? I'm 28 with a family and a mortgage; it's not like I can just move back in with the parents, you know?!

Hmmm... What about taking out personal loans? Probably not ideal but I'm pretty sure neither is working full time.. I'm not too sure about financial aid or scholarships but I would start looking into it ASAP!! We have a family & a mortgage too so I know how you feel. Plus my family is over 400 miles away

When are you taking the NLN? I think I might take it next month. Probably on the 18th.

I'm trying to apply for the Fall of 2013 as well. Anyone taking Micro AND AP2 this semester?

I'm applying for Spring of 13 also. Just took the NLN last Sat. Wowzers!! Have most of my prereqs done, except for Micro. I've taken the class, but its past the 5 year currency limit so I have to take it again.
