Yep, it's incorporated and has its own fire department and everything!

To the OP, what exactly are you looking for? Your post is rather vague.

donaldj, i live about 2hrs away in north central ms. been sort of wanting to stretch my wings alittle. kinda like to try a weekend every so often in a bigger type setting as prn/part-time. got plenty of part-time gigs here but want to try to get out of the small hospital thing. a per diem partime spot would be great. got family in the cordova germantown area.

Methodist and Baptist are the two biggest hospital groups in Memphis, so you have the best chance of getting a PRN position with either of those. I hear Baptist pays the best, but is also worse for patient ratio. St. Francis (Tenet Healthcare) also owns two hospitals in the city; one is very large and one is fairly small, but both usually have PRN positions available.

You might be better off getting on with an agency so that you can pick and choose exactly what you want and not be tied down to a specific facility.

I have a quick question for those wonderful nurses who work in Tennessee. Does St. Jude only hire nurses who have more than a BSN degree, or do I stand a chance recieving a job straight out of college?

Don't know about St. Jude, check their website out under HR, it should say.

RN1980, go to the MED (espi if you want trauma) it'll spread your wings.

Thank you for your reply! I greatly appreciate it

No you don't have to have a BSN to work ar St Jude. Not sure if they hire right outta school, but they might.
